6901  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Macro Photo Challenge: Turtle Power on: April 23, 2008 09:10:10 AM
Great photo and fantastic photo story! LOL funny...2 thumbs up!
6902  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: Announcing the First Ever Photography Challenge! on: April 23, 2008 08:48:47 AM
Personally, I think it should just be a lesson learned for future challenges.  If you think you are going to change your mind with your entry, just wait until the last day to enter and you can choose whatever project you'd like.

To me, it would seem unfair if someone entered something, looked at all of the other entries in comparison and then decided to reshoot & re-enter.

Thanks to Batty for setting up the challenge and dealing with all of our crazy questions!! Smiley

I agree! I know that I immediately picked out my favorite photo from the ones that I have already taken. After looking at some of the others, I know that I probably could have taken a more interesting shot.

So, I've taken it as a lesson learned in more ways than one Wink Checking out all of these pics has been like a mini-photography course: lighting, composition, subject matter- so many great examples to help me take better photos in the future. Yay!
6903  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: A Jar of Mini Whimsies Swap Gallery on: April 23, 2008 08:38:20 AM
Fantastic goodies! I can't believe that some of those items actually fit in a jar- fabulous packing, gals! The saxophone is way cool, and I really like the little koala in panda's jar. And, those mini devil ducks rock! I can't even find full size ones, never mind mini ones. I'll just have to look harder.
6904  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ APR on: April 23, 2008 08:27:22 AM
Ah...weaving in ends...the bane of crocheters everywhere...

Which reminds me, I'd better get to work on mine Wink

K, I'll get that order up for you right away (that sounded like a fast food drive-through Cheesy)!

Yay! You're the best, sweets!
6906  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: matchy match hats for monkey and baby on: April 22, 2008 09:30:21 AM
Congrats, vegbee! He's adorable! And, the monkey looks so proud!

Not only am I impressed that you managed to craft with a new baby, but you also did it so well- I love how well you matched the stripes on the seam of the hat. Wink

Can't wait to see all of the fabulous things the new one will be wearing!

For the challenge entries, it would be easier to view them if they were all in one folder like in the other challenges. Is that possible?  Smiley

I just PM'd Batty about that yesterday.  She doesn't have access to a folder right now, but we can get one setup for her, if that's a method she would prefer.  Totally up to her personal preference, though!

If not, maybe the links to the images could be consolidated into the first post on this thread? It would mean regular updates, but it'd be easier for folks to view the images instead of scrolling through all of the pages.

I'm afraid that I've missed some of the pics but, truth be told, I'm too lazy to go back and check all of the links again...
6908  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: A project to turn thrifted belts into purse handles on: April 22, 2008 08:42:20 AM
Thanks for this tutorial! I have a belt that I plan to use on a bag, but I hadn't worked out how I was going to attach it. Problem solved!

And, I had intended to cut the buckle off, but your tip to cut it off center means I can adjust the strap if I need to. Thanks again!
6909  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 50+ Wash Cloths-along on: April 22, 2008 08:37:17 AM
I think it looks great- I didn't even notice it wasn't straight Wink And, that's the cool thing about these washcloths; they are nice and small and make it easy to learn a new technique without a huge investment of time. And, when you're finished, you don't just have a useless swatch, you have a fully functioning dishcloth! Grin
6910  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ APR on: April 22, 2008 08:33:42 AM
I finished mine, too, but haven't woven in the ends (I should have done it in one color Tongue ). I hate to post until I have it fully finished...

Maybe I should work on that this afternoon...
