As soon as I saw this, I jumped up and dug out the empty Zebra Cakes box from the trash can...very cool stuff on that box. I wonder what else I have in there??

So, I might actually make one or two in the next couple of days...

Thanks for the idea!
6904  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Skellietrees! Under $20 on: August 27, 2007 06:02:45 PM
Okay, these are totally creepy... I'd love to make one, but then I think I'd have nightmares for a month!

The DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, MA has (or had the last time I was there), these sculptural wire bodies (chicken wire, I think), covered with a green mesh/gauze on the trees near the parking lot. I loved them, but they always gave me the willies. I think it was from watching the Wizard of Oz at too young of an age- when the trees came alive in the forest...as scary as the Wicked Witch...

These are right along the same lines...
6905  UNITED STATES / Massachusetts / Re: Worcester? (Esp. Clark craftsters!) on: August 27, 2007 05:00:30 PM
Hmmmm...I didn't know about HBML! I may have to wander down Pleasant Street to find it. I'm guessing that it is south of the rotary at Newton Square (near Doherty HS).

stART on the Street is an Artists and Crafters festival that will be right on Park Ave. It's Sunday, Sept. 16th (rain date the 23rd). They close off a section of Park Ave (between Elm and Pleasant, I think...or maybe all the way to the end of Elm Park...I'm not sure). I didn't get to go last year to check it out, but my sister and I have a booth, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Check out www.startonthestree t.org for more info.

I've decided what my OTT will be, and it is partly finished, but I can't work on it until the weekend...but then I should be able to send at the start of next week!

Oooh- I'm getting excited now! And, while desperately searching for something this weekend (which remains among the missing), I found a bunch of items that I had bought to try to melt. So now I have stuff to work with and it was already in my stash! Wink

The tigers are so cute! Their stripes totally rock! And, I love the elephant and the camel. Can't wait to see your patterns!

PS And the little Buddah on your blog is fantastic, right down to his toes Wink

I have 2 tiny things picked out. One is already started, but the other one is seriously calling my name. But, I do know another person who would probably like the second one...

Guess it all depends on what my partner likes. I might have to come up with something completely different Wink

PS And LuxieLou, thank you for continuing to work on the swap when you've lost someone close to you. A difficult time. My condolences.
6910  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Doodle Stitching- My book is here!! on: August 26, 2007 03:42:01 PM
I got mine the other day and I love it! I've already ordered a pair of brown canvas sneakers (from Target) to embroider. And, I love the little felt critters, so I'm digging out my felt supply to see what I can do.

The projects in the book look so fun, that I'm inspired to start doing a few doodles (beyond my usual geometric boredom) to see how they look when I embroider them. Now, to find all of my embroidery supplies...
