6831  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap FOCR (Signups CLOSED, Sendouts 7/2/08) on: June 15, 2008 03:44:50 PM
TheSapphireMoon, those are so pretty! And, I know a couple of little girls who would just love them! Of course, since there are 5 little girls I gift to, I'd have to carefully study them to make a few more Wink They'd all look so cute in them!!

I am working on a list... Items that would be perfect for me, and items that would be perfect as gifts! So far, the "perfect for me" list is much longer Wink
6833  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Kaleidoscope cane ***Tutorial***(new magenta cane added pg 2 and 3) on: June 15, 2008 10:00:04 AM
Wow! Such gorgeous work, and I love seeing all of the examples of what can be made with them! It really makes me want to dig out some clay and give it a go (but I'm still a little bit chicken). I'll have to set up a dedicated space for "clay play" and then go to town!

I've got this bookmarked (as well as Diane B.'s site) so when I have the time (and the courage), I can give it a whirl...
6834  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: 2-Color Birthday T-shirts on: June 15, 2008 09:53:41 AM
Thanks! One color is very easy, especially with freezer paper. I still have some kinks to work out with the 2 colors. Once I get that down, I can try more!

And, just as a warning (sort of Wink ), once you get hooked on stenciling things, you'll want to apply stencils to everything! And everyone that you know will be wearing a piece of your artwork Cheesy
6835  COOKING / Dessert / Re: 5-minute boston cream pie on: June 15, 2008 08:05:55 AM
Fantastic! I'm making these for my next occasion... I can't make them just for me (darn it!). How many servings do you get out of one pound cake?
6836  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Creepy Cute Crochet-along? on: June 15, 2008 08:02:45 AM
So cute! And the little flower in his lapel just makes the perfect finishing touch Wink
6837  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - SEPTEMBER (final month) on: June 15, 2008 07:59:08 AM
Thanks! And it really was easy- The pattern repeats and once you get the hang of it (which should be by round 3), you won't even need to look at the directions. It has a great texture, too. I think that it is my favorite square, even ahead of the butterfly one!
6838  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ JUNE on: June 15, 2008 07:55:12 AM
I finished my '07 June square (which is really cool square...it's called Tilt A Whirl, I think), so I'm going to start this square soon...maybe tonight, even (I have a handbag I have to make first).  I'll be making it in one color- the rose color- so it should go pretty quickly since I won't have any color changes!
6839  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ JUNE on: June 14, 2008 07:02:57 AM
dotsamantha- you just gave me a weird freaky moment! I was scrolling through new posts with pics and saw your squares and thought that one of my old posts had popped up! I'm using gray and light blue on my '07 squares and I momentarily thought I was looking at some of my own squares Wink Doesn't help that I haven't had my coffee yet...

Nice squares! And thanks for posting the pattern link to the Victorian Square! It's pretty and I'll have to look at the pattern later... and add it to the list Wink

I have been at it again! This is the June Easy square! I really liked this pattern and I may make a big blanket someday in this pattern. It would make a pretty baby blanket, too!

I used a J hook, but knew I'd still need to add rounds, so I added one more round of the central pattern, and an extra round of the "dc1, ch1, sk1" (only I switched it so that it was offset). It ended up coming out pretty darn close to the right size! It doesn't lay perfectly square and flat, so it's harder to measure...

Only 3 more to go and I'm done with the Easy squares! Whoo-hoo!
