Wow! What an awesome stitching job! When I was in college, one of my professors had a shirt with a neuron embroidered on the back. I've always wanted to make a science-teacher-geek lab coat that was something cool (besides tie-dye...it's been done...and overdone). I might have to embroider one because this looks so fantastic!
Did you create your own pattern? If you could let me know how you did that, I'd appreciate it (and I hope you don't say you drew it out freehand...I'd be dead in the water!)!
This is beautiful! I would love to make something like this! Does the knitware software convert automatically to crochet? Where do you find it? And, how did you make it without any seams?
Who needs knitting when you can make things like this with crochet!
I didn't pre-wash. I don't think that I'll be washing my bear, though.
Good, then I won't pre-wash mine, either! My completed bear probably won't be hitting the wash either. And this way, I won't have to iron the fabric after it comes out of the wash all wrinkly!
I made an extra copy of the pattern, and instead of marking things, would it be all right if I sent the pieces with the pattern piece attached? I probably shouldn't send pins through the mail, especially if I mail out of the country, so I'll try to figure out a way to attach them safely and securely. Maybe a binder clip to hold it all together?
Also, with my fabric, I think that the right and wrong side (or up and down, I think) will be pretty evident (it's a printed cotton).
And, a final question, should I wash the fabric before I cut out the pieces? I don't know if folks will be throwing their bears in the wash in the future, so I'm wondering if I should pre-wash in case anything shrinks...
Okay, I'm not sure if this picture will work (I still don't know why it wouldn't work), but if it does, it's a better quality image than the other one (which I'm leaving up just in case!). Hopefully, you'll be able to see some of the detail in the bag (and I LOVE this cherry print fabric- it looks so crisp against the solid red!).
I'm sorry Yoshi! I got the pattern from a friend and I was asked not to share it- which is a bummer because I'd love to see what other people could do with it!
Hmmm...due to a live mouse problem, I may be getting myself a kitten. Now, since I want to train it to be a "mouser" (even though I'd be perfectly happy if the mice would just contain themselves to the basement) these little mice might be the perfect little training mice! They look pretty cute and pretty simple! I'll definitely have to check out the pattern!
Wow, this is a really great bag idea! And especially great for this challenge. I would love to see more pics/info about how you did it and how it's put together.
Hmmm... a tute...it would be my first...I'll have to work on that after I get caught up with everything I didn't do while I was working on the bag! It wasn't hard, but it took a lot of math for me to get it all right on the first try!
So...I hereby promise a tute by the end of the month, if not sooner (vacation in a couple of weeks). Maybe I'll have to make another one and fix some of the "issues" I had with this one...then I could take pictures, even...
Okay...I think I can do this swap (I have 2 others I want to do that are running this month)- I was a swap angel and as long as that counts for my first swap, then I should be all set to go!
There is just one thing I'm not quite clear on, and I know it has been asked and answered, but I still need a tiny bit of clarification...
I understand that we'll be sending out parts to certain people, but will we be told what parts to send to what person?
*Edited* Okay, I just re-read the inital 2 posts and found the answer (Yes) to my question. So...I'm going to try to print out my patterns this week and start cutting!
