I'm going to pack up my sets so I can get them in the mail ASAP. I have a bit of a busy week ahead, and my post office opportunities are limited this week.

Can't wait!!

I hope so! But make sure you let me know when you see them Wink

Hardware store for sure!  Some local independent craft stores might carry the small rolls too. Metal repair tape can be found with the ducting for air conditioning.  Also known as foil tape.  There are several kinds you want the kind that looks the thinnest and the widest. The thick stuff is useless unless you are using it for its intended purpose.

Its around $4 to $7 for a roll, I bought the bigger roll because I ran out the small one so fast using it to cover my journals.

Yay! Thanks! I may have to make a run to the store tomorrow on my day off. I have a stack of small notebooks that are waiting for a cool treatment, and I think that this could be it!

Cheesy

Wow! So many fabulous photos were posted over the weekend! I am impressed! And, I'm impressed with those of you who have already crafted some items. I have a couple of ideas for my partner, but now I just need to see what I have on hand.

And, as a heads up to my group, I just sent everyone a PM to say "Hi!" so if you are in my group and you didn't get it, can you send me a PM so I can fix things? Thanks!

I cannot wait!!! to see what everyone makes for this swap Wink

I just got in from my "craft weekend" with my friends, and I have all of my GD's crocheted, and I only need to do the weaving in on about 24. So, I will be mailing on Tuesday (right around 5 pm).

I was still having trouble with the center hole enlarging, and sometimes I couldn't get it small again, so I changed the method of starting, but just a bit. I also don't know if I ended them off right, but I left plenty of yarn, so they could be fixed, if needed. And, if I did do them wrong, I'd love it if you could explain the correct way Wink

I haven't made a list of ideas, yet. Lately, it seems that whenever I do, nothing on my list is a good match for my partner. So, once I have the info in hand, then I'll start coming up with ideas, and matching my ideas to what I have on hand... New swap rule for me: Must be made from SIZABLE stash (minor detail purchases are allowed...)

I've decided that some of my chosen themes are a little challenging. I might come up with some alternates.  Undecided

Oh, now I'm curious! Existentialism? Chaos Theory? Relativity? Those would be challenging! Although now that I think about it a bit... Wink

This is so cool looking! It would make a great journal for a guy. Where do you find the metal foil tape? At a craft store? What section? Or at the hardware store (and what section, again)?

Thanks so much for sharing how you made it!

I wish I had some fabulous tree pics to share! There have been so many awesome photos posted! And those "tree cookie" coasters are cool- I love the shape of the bark!

Jenicat has said she'll have partner info to me by mid-day tomorrow. I'll have a chance after work (and before I head off for a weekend of crafting- yay!) to send PMs to the folks in my group. If there are any problems, I won't have internet access until Monday morning, but I'll take care of anything first thing!

And, the trees in the city I live in are under attack by the Asian Longhorned Beetle, which bores holes into several types of hardwood trees. There was an infestation in NJ a few years back and they cut down all of the infected trees and any other potential host trees within a certain radius of the infected ones. Not long ago, an agreement had been reached here that only the infected trees would be cut, but that was before they found out that the range of infestation was much bigger than they realized. It's critical to eliminate the beetles (there is no control method), because it can jeopardize the entire region's hardwood forests.  One of the things I love about my city (Worcester, MA) is how many trees there are...

The slots are regularly spaced across each piece.  In other words, I started with a grid (and later realized you only need the verticals) with the lines at 1" intervals.  Each piece is centered on a line, so the slots run right up the center.  Slots are then 1" apart across the piece.

There are three shapes: a pumpkin shaped piece, a circle, and an oval.  You need two of the first one and 4 each of the others.

I have to get ready for a wedding this weekend but will work on the template next week (I only have the vertical lines printed on it, not the exact length of each slot).

I think I get it, but I think I'll wait for the tute Wink Just to be safe Grin

Thanks so much for offering to make one!
