Okay, my boxes are sealed in envelopes, ready to hit the PO tomorrow! Due to some unexpectedly high anxiety over this swap  , I changed the contents of the boxes twice! So, after packing them for the 3rd time, they are done, for better or a teeny bit less better (I just hate to say worse!  ) !

So, I'll be mailing them out in the morning and then getting to the crafts that I didn't get to today! My vacation is almost over and I didn't even put a dent in my have-to-get-done-this-week pile! 

That bag is amazing!  I'm totally in love with the fabrics and the construction.  I'm not very good at sewing, I've only done very basic things, but maybe if you were going to make one to hold books and other heavy-ish items, rather than using buttons, try zippers if it isn't too difficult, and if it would be sturdier. 

Thanks! I had actually considered making it with zippers, but it's a pretty big bag and I didn't think I could locally (and cheaply) find large enough zippers. Plus, I wasn't sure how much I'd like the look of the zippers once it was unzipped. I may try it on a smaller bag, though. If I do, I'll be sure to post it!

Just go to a store you would normally shop.  Buy the gift card for yourself and use it for necessities.  I love target and the dog was a cute pic and just the right size.  The tie dye was from Wal-Mart.

Hmmm...I don't know why I didn't think of that! I recently bought a pizza place gift card for myself because it came with a coupon for a free pizza! Now I'll have to look at all of my regular "haunts" with a fresh eye. And, I might ask friends and family for used up gift cards (if the store doesn't keep them!).

Would there be a way to put in some fusible interfacing after the shape was completed? I don't know much about felting, but it seems like once you were done felting the face, you could cut some pieces of interfacing and iron them in (carefully)...but would the heat from the iron cause the wool to shrink? Hmmmm...

And, if you put a lining on the inside (a nice stiff material), it wouldn't beat it up as much on the inside...

Now I want to see someone make one!

My feeling is this, every human being responsible for themselves, and maybe even a spouse or child or (gasp) both, is a housewife because someone has to pull the clogged, soapy hair out of the drain trap, someone has to scrub the toliet, someone has to discover, appreciate, and then trash the moldy ecosystems in the back of the fridge.  Which is what the housewife does.  The only people who don't do those things are people with housewives.  Whether or not you spend time in your day being appreciated by a wage because when you get home, guess what, you're a housewife.  That's the tragedy of it all.

Just don't go getting good at it, is all!

Whew! Thanks Vegbee! I didn't even consider the fact that I wasn't a "housewife"- it never even crossed my mind to consider it a requirement. I'm just a super duper extra crappy housekeeper! Thank goodness that's enough- I am so looking forward to this swap!

I undid the pointyness of the nose by stitching a felt triangle on as the nose over the point so the point was hidden, if you know what I mean.
I have a feeling that only makes sence to me but it is quarter to seven in the morning to only making sence to me is as close as you can get.

And, looking closely at the detail pic, I can see the three colors- very nice! I may steal your color scheme for my cousin's afghan- who cares what her colors are? Just kidding...

I think more green in the other one would be the best. I checked out the afghan in the other post (if you copy and paste the link it works), and I think more green would be more "masculine" looking. If you think it'll be too much green, you could always make the green stripes a little less wide. What color will you be using as a third color  (assuming you do use one, like missamorph did)?

And, I really like your first afghan! Did you make a bunch of individual strips and then crochet them together? I'm always intimidated by afghans- they seem like a forever kind of project- but if I did one strip by strip, I might be able to manage!  Now, if I could just be brave and attempt to crochet two separate pieces together (I have some granny squares and yo-yos waiting to be united...). 

I have a cousin getting married in the summer...now you've given me an idea for her shower gift...
