6701  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fill a Coffee Cup or Mug Swap! on: October 27, 2007 01:24:59 PM
Whew! I was worried that, because I had packed the box so tightly, something would break along the way. I'm glad everything made it okay!

Love the cauldron mug! And somewhere, I have patterns for crocheted coffee mugs and tea cups. I should make some for gifts. Thanks for the inspiration!

FYI: If you're plus-size, the Target ones may not fit around your calf...

But then, you could cut them up the back (or side or front), insert grommets, and lace them up! You'd have a pair like nobody else!!

I like that one dani.ELLE! I might actually have a chance to crochet this weekend. I might finish an Almond Back Loop that I started ages ago. Wink

Ooooh! I really like the zipper square!

I just tried to get a peek at the pattern, but bandwidth was an issue. I'll definitely be checking it out tomorrow!

And, can I just say (again, I think), you are a dishcloth machine Z.S!
6706  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Handmade rubber stamps swap??? on: October 25, 2007 07:38:40 PM
Later would be better for me, but I could probably manage mid-November, too!

Ooooh! I'd really like to be in on this! But, I just signed up for another swap and I'm trying not to overload myself. But, if there isn't too much overlap, then I might be able to do it. I have a couple of stamps to carve this weekend, and if I can get back into the groove, then I'll probably join in!

And, I recently learned a neat tip for getting the image onto the rubber...and it reverses the text, too!
1) Print out or draw your image.
2) Make a black & white photo copy of the image.
3) Trim around the image so you can position it properly on your carving block.
4) Place a piece of paper over the block.
5) Iron on a low setting.
6) Let the block cool and peel off the image.
7) A copy of the image should now be transferred onto the block! And, it doesn't rub off easily, either.

Hooray! I'm so glad Ridley made it home safely! Whew! And he looks like he had a fantastic time (not including being stuck in a box at the PO for a while)!

My partner, redheadskydiver, received her package last night but won't be able to post pics for a few days...so I figured I'd post 'em. They aren't the best pics, so maybe she can post better ones later!

First up, a tea bag holder (with matching tissue holder) filled with Early Grey tea, and a matchbook-style notepad.

Then, in tribute to the Andorian race, a handbag with a Shran patch and a pair of Shran antennae (which I must make for myself now!).

And finally, a Data notebook with my all-time favorite bit of TNG dialogue on the back.

I had a blast making these items! This swap was so much fun and I'm definitely stealing a few ideas to make as Christmas gifts Wink And, I need some Tribbles for myself!

Wow! I never thought about melting crayons...I have a ton in my closet in school...I might take a stab at that...
