I just added in the back view to try to show the rest of the fabrics. When I went to the fabric store to get some embroidery floss for his nose and belly button, I brought him with me. The woman at the register recognized some of the fabrics as being sold there (JoAnn's)!
And Homerof2- You should finish him up! It may surprise you- My friends were skeptical too, until I finished putting on the eyes and nose and stuffed him. They liked him better than my original practice bear (the grey fleece one). Okay, now I think I need to go and crochet...
Yay! I just sent in my information! Although, now that I'm looking at the kits that people are wanting, I don't know if any of my offerings (besides learn to crochet) will be wanted... Maybe once my offerings are listed, someone might list it as a "wanted"...then I'll feel so much better...
And thanks, LGD for organizing- this looks like a logistical nightmare!
Okay, it only took me about 3 months, but my Frankenteddy is finally finished! Thanks to: Brianknits, Homerof2, Igobylorib and pinkstars69- (Team Pooh Bear) for sending such great fabrics! I had my doubts about what he was going to look like when I finally got it all together, but he came out way better looking than I expected!
I stitched his mouth and belly button (he has an "outie") on today, so he is officially done!
Shoot! I was just at JoAnns and didn't think to look there for thick foam! I did order a couple of books by Jacqui Carey: Beginner's Guide to Braiding: The craft of Kumihimo (Beginner's Guide to Series) and 200 Braids to Twist, Knot, Loop, or Weave (got 'em on Amazon) to help me get started. One of the reviews for the beginner's guide says that there are instructions for making the stuff you need out of stuff you can find around the house. I'll let you know what that means when the book arrives later this week, if you're interested.
GraceOblivious, where did your husband find the disks that he bought? Just in case the ones that I make just don't cut it...
Here is my October easy square! I was going to post it before I had breakfast this morning, but I realized that I had left it in the car (craft day at a friend's house yesterday) and I was still in my PJs. I knew I had to post the pic to prove that I had actually done it!
I used Simply Soft Grey Heather. I had to add two extra rounds to get it to the 12" size. I've printed out the November easy square, which also uses an I hook, so I might have to find a J to make this one with.
