1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Santa brought me a sewing machine for Christmas on: December 25, 2007 05:06:05 PM
Merry Christmas everyone!
I just got my very first sewing machine for Christmas and I am so excited to not have to drive to my aunt's house to use her sewing machine anymore.  Before I open the box though, I would like to know if it's a good machine or not.  I can't seem to find anything on here about it.

So has anyone ever owned or had experience with a Kenmore 15358?  Did you have a good experience or bad experience with it, and is it worth $100 or should I go for something else?

Here's a link to what I'm talking about:

Thanks so much Smiley
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / I am just a hallucination on: October 30, 2007 10:28:17 AM
Behold the Green Fairy!

This is the 3rd costume I've put together so far and the one I mainly was excited to be (The other two were because this one wasn't together yet)

The dress is my mom's old disco dress (that she met my dad in at a disco lol).  I modified and shortened and made it kind of poofy.  I found the sequin headband at Unique Thrift Store which is this RAAR grr ugggh huge store in my city. I sewed a huge green flower on it and added feathers because I always think of the 19th century for Absinthe and Paris, so I wanted to reflect that with a bit of bohemian Can Can girl flavor.  The wings and wand were $4 at Walmart and since the wings didn't fit...I sewed them to my bra instead.  The glitter on my body is white glitter Acrylic paint, green Crayola glitter glue, and green sequins I glued to my skin with eyelash glue.  I used Urban Decay green metallic sparkly eyeshadow on my lips.

My other 2 costumes I'll put up once I load them onto my computer.

Danke for looing  Grin

I also had spent 2 days beating a green lingerie corset I found at Unique with sequins and sparkly leaves but unfortunately I had figured a medium would fit me and it didn't and it was made in a way I couldn't take it up easy enough in my limited timeframe so alas no corset for me.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Costume Party on: September 18, 2006 09:23:59 AM
So I was thinking of having a Studio 54 Halloween costume party, but I am having problems with planning. I plan on inviting around 80 people  I also feel a bit weird about this inbetween age I am in.  My friends range from 17-19 and they are in that age where they are told they are adults but not legally allowed alcohol.  Now I am worried with parents there that my friends will find my party rather lame and I'm not sure yet whether I will have it at my house where they can have movies, music, halo tournaments or whether I will have it in a field surronded by woods on my grandmother's property.  If it is at my house, do you have any suggestions or decoration ideas?

If I have it at this field, I will have live bands, a haunted haywagon ride, and haunted trail...What do you all think is a better idea?  I'm very worried because people always expect good parties from me but my friends are getting more wild with age....

So what do you all think?
