21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pattern Selection Advice - Your fresh ideas might help my jaded sewing outlo on: September 11, 2007 02:23:19 AM
j_en - I am pear shaped and gave up on dresses *L*  I cannot find anything that's remotely flattering on me, but that's also because I have some other weirdshaped-ness going on!  I know that in the Vogue pattern books (in either the plus-size section or the "todays fit" section) they show pictures of body shapes that would be flattered with the pattern.  That's helpful.  I wonder if this link might give you some direction:  http://www.youlookfab.com/2007/04/10/dresses-for-pretty-pears/

So I punched holes on the edges of my page, removed the fibers from each card, then re-threaded the fibers through the hole in the tag and the hole in the page!  It looks great!  The tags are securely attached and the fibers hang out of the edges of the book, just like I wanted.  You can easily see both sides of the tags.

The only tag I didn't attach that way was OY's -- her's is made from handmade paper and was kind of delicate.  It is also one-sided, so I had previously glued it to my page to display and protect it.  I punched a hole in the page through the hole in the tag, then threaded the fibers through that -- so it looks just like all the others.

What a great idea!  I was trying to figure out what to do with mine, and I think I am going to make small library card pockets (possibly out of vellum).  Now I'm not sure though, because you'd have to take them out to see the pretty bits.

I used ribbons in the first set, but I'd used up all of my stash, so I had to get creative on this one!  I'm really glad you like them minouette!

I hope there's another round to this!  It looks like much fun, but my Dutch classes just started and they are EATING ALL OF MY CRAFTING TIME!  I feel quite put out by this *L*  In anycase, I'm going to be watching to see the amazing things people come up with =)

This week I received an incredibly large amount of fabric from the fabulous Colorfuldays destined for my Mum's quilt. Grin

Just look at it all on my 3 seater, and most of these pieces are folded several times!

The artwork I sent just isn't on a par with this awesomeness, thank you Colorfuldays! Kiss

I just drooled on myself a little.  Have fun with your quilt =D

I think it's an adorable dress, and you don't look pregnant!  It still looks like it's a touch too big, but maybe that's the style?
