The dragonfly bag is cute and I love how you did the straps on the last bag (the plaid one).

I LOVE that purse!  It is so cute and doesn't look like a placemat at all.  I just made my first purse too.  It is so much fun, huh? Smiley

Those are really cute.  I made a zippered pouch yesterday that didn't turn out well at all (one of the outside pieces was wrong side out!) Sad  Like you say, they are pretty tricky!

You did a great job though.  I like the Dalmation one.

This is a very cute bag and the fabric is great.

I think I saw that at my Joann's store today.  If you still need the info on the fabric, I'll be going back tomorrow for the stuff I forgot.  Let me know if I can help you.

This is really cute.  I like the closure on the bag.  I've only made one bag so far but I hope to be able to make something like this soon.  Great job!

I haven't even used my machine in years and when I did use it, I made throw pillows only.  I've never sewn anything other than that.  I followed the tutorial for the Easy Peasy Tote and made this little bag.  I love how it turned out and I'm sure my next bag will look a lot better.

619  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Suggestions for 2nd project? on: September 14, 2006 08:18:31 AM
I'm new and this is my first post so forgive me if I'm doing it wrong.

I've had a sewing machine for years but have only sewn throw pillows on it.  Each time we redecorate, I make new pillow.  Easy and only straight lines!  Wink

So yesterday I made the Easy Peasy tote bag.

I'm definitely a beginner and I need to practice some more but I'd like to make another bag.  I'd like to learn how to do zippers and other types of closures but I'm clueless on how to start.  I would even be willing to go buy a pattern if someone knows of a pattern that would help me.  Any suggestions for me?
