1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / baby gift basket on: September 20, 2008 04:09:13 AM
Well my husband works with a group home for troubled teens, and for the past 4 years we've held a Fall Fest to encourage community awareness and to fund raise since it operated primarily on donations.  As part of the festivities our coordinator organizes a silent auction, auctioning off donated items assembled into theme baskets.  This is my contribution.  Its a baby blanket, hat, booties and sweet little bunny,  Sorry the photos are low quality.

The blanket pattern......

The bunny and booties........

I lost the blanket pattern half way through and couldn't remember the name to reprint.  It was a free one I found on the net, if anyone recognizes let me know so I can see how my made up finish compares to the instructed one.  Thanks for looking.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Jammies! on: September 12, 2008 06:59:57 AM
My boys and my niece always share a family b-day dinner celebration and it's Saturday. So I made her some fun kimono style jammies. She is a sassy little thing and we thought these would suit her flashy sense of style.  I have four highly opinionated children and they all helped pick out the fabrics, took about an hour, one of my 9 yo boys was very upset that we didn't go with a zebra stripe for the pants.  Do you think we should have listened to him?

I had to pay one of my boys to get the action shot and swear that his face would not be in the pic.  I'm lucky he didn't require a blood oath.

Any way it was a fun project and very easy.  I used this tute http://habitual.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/habitual_simplekimonov2.pdffor the top and an old pants pattern I had laying around.  Here are the pics tell me what you think, Thanks.

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Technically not a pop star party but would love ideas......... on: June 04, 2008 07:27:55 AM
Hello, I am fairly new to posting and I haven't posted on this particular board yet but wow are you guys creative!  I love party planning and should have checked out your ideas sooner.  So now I will be so bold as to pick your brains if you don't mind.

Technically, I am not having a party but I am a counselor for a week at a summer camp and I always decorate my cabin with a theme.  My girls are aged 7-11 and I was told by my not so timid daughter I should have a "pop star" theme.  I have gold stars to hang from the ceiling, twinkle lights and that wiry shiny garland.  I also try and give them a small favor each day to let them know I'm glad they are there. So far I have mini-composition books recovered in star paper with a fancy pencil, and small crocheted pouches with lip gloss, I need to come up with about 4 more favor ideas and maybe something I can put on their bunks as a pouch or bag for keeping things, like flashlights , hair and tooth brushes.  Also if you have any more decor ideas please share.  Anyway if any of you have input or thoughts I'd love to hear it.  Thanks!
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Finally I finished something! on: June 01, 2008 04:22:04 AM
Well with my kiddos sports and other miscellaneous things I forget to say I am not available to do, my schedule has been jam packed and I haven't been able to finish up any of my works in progress.  So last night I took the evening off and sat down to finish this up.  It's an afghan I made for a friend of mine who has been a great encouragement to me this year while I worked through some stressful situations and it felt so good to be able to do a small something in return for her.  Anyway I think it turned out pretty nice what do ya'll think? Thanks for looking.

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Spring sweater on: May 13, 2008 07:22:35 PM
Hi everyone I just gathered my courage enough to post something.  You are all so talented and I am quite intimidated but here goes.  I made this sweater for my sweet niece in April but they live in GA and I'm so far away in Ohio I just now got pics.  Tell me what you think and how I can improve.  Thanks!
