Hey!! I received my can from Geeber the other day! She spoiled me oh so bad!! I am actually making her another goodie that she'll receive soon
Here is a collection of the items that she crafted up for me!!
You can see in the photo an awesome apron, coin pouch, handmade brooch, and cross-stitched ornament! She also included cute little holiday stickers and also extras from the can crafting...which is super awesome!! I mean, check out this can!!! (sorry about it being sideways!!)
It is a frickin' martini savings bank!!! That rocks oh so much!!
On top of that, she made me this beautiful table runner (just what I wanted!!) that is being modeled by our table in this photo:
And just for fun, a photo of me modeling the apron, and our tree modeling the ornament.
Geeber, thank you so so much! You spoiled me way too much, but I love it all!! Thanks again and look forward to receiving your can (and a few non-can goodies) in the near future You rock!!
I received yesterday from Rectangel!!!!! She was a super amazing lovely swap partner who went WAY above and beyond I adore everything she sent, she really spoiled me and also made stuff that I love love love!!!! So without further ado...
The whole lot:
As you can see I got a ton of awesome goodies!!! As for the little ones, she made me a pair of awesome pink (love!) beeswax candlesticks that she made. She also sent along some LOVELY chocolates from Bernard Callebaut (a local chocolatier) and I couldn't wait any longer to eat them...lol I totally split the little box she sent with my fiance today before leaving for work. So sorry the box isn't in the photo, although I wish it was because it was beautiful!!! But it was totally delicious Also sent along 2 wonderful magnets with totally witty sayings on them, which I love a lot!! Here are some close ups of the other crafted items!!
Really beautiful luggage tag with tiki motif (I ADORE THIS!!!) She did a really nice job (as usual!!) with using her embroidery skills to create this awesome tiki luggage tag that will be excellent on our journeys to tiki bars around the country (and hopefully world). The colors in the photo really don't do the tag justice, the threads are that nice turquoise blue that looks amazing with red and also a shiny gold thread as well. It is beautiful in person!! I wish my camera took better shots of beautiful colors!!
And this brings me to the pinnacle of the swap package, which just goes to show even more how much she spoiled me!!! She made me a quilt!!! Yes!!! A quilt!!! And it is GORGEOUS, and it is her first quilt too!! I am in awe that she was able to part with it, and also that it was her first one!!! It is fabulous and really warm (I am totally curled up with it right now on my couch!!) I think it is a lap size (actually a bit bigger than lap size I think, although I am sorta short, but it covers me super well!!). But she used the coolest combination of stripes, leopard prints, and dark red/black fabrics. I love it so much!!! In person, the colors all look a little brighter than the photograph. She really did such a beautiful job on this quilt!!
Rectangel, you went way above and beyond, I really loved being your swap partner!!! Thank you again so much for everything, it all fits my personality so well and also very useful items! --Jamie
Hey everyone!! Matt received from our swap partner MinorPunk56 yesterday! Here are all the goodies
He got a Kool Keith stencil t-shirt, a Rob Schneider stuffie doll, a super cute ninja bottle holder, and a Japanese knot keychain. Our partner couple also included a yummy looking chocolate (which I can't eat, darn!) and some peppermint gum that they love. Laura had some really great ideas for the swap!
Here's an upclose view of the Kool Keith shirt, Matt has a weird obsession with Kool Keith, and this is a stencil from his "Black Elvis" persona. I really like the stencil a lot.
Laura also made this super cute Rob Schneider stuffie (it is my favorite). His hair is just like Rob Schneiders, and that totally cracks me up!! I will probably be hard at work making some clothes for him so that Matt can dress him and put him on his computer or something. But the doll makes me smile cause it is so cute.
She also came up with the neat idea of making a Japanese knot keychain. Matt likes all things Japanese, so this was a good idea. It is a fairly intricate knot and has a nice clover shape to it.
This is Matt's favorite, the ninja beer cozy! For this she used a ninja image that her boyfriend (and our swap partner!) draws. Here is it holding a bottle of sauce cause Matt drank all our beer already... don't know how that happens!
Just wanted to thank MinorPunk56 aka Laura again for being a great swap partner, and since this was her first swap, I hope she has lots of fun doing other future swaps too!
YAY!!! I received from Hellobint today, some super great stuff!!!! She did an excellent job making things that are totally me!! The package made it here so so quick, even with the postal strike going on by her. They must have put it on the super fast plane or something!!
So, without further ado, here are the photos!!!! Here is everything she sent me, all layed out on my awesome carpet! I got three delightful sounding candy bars from England that I can't wait to eat later, according to her letter, one is an everyday bar, the other slightly more upscale, and the minty one a classic!! So that is very cool because I love learning about chocolate and its place in culture!
Here is the SUPER awesome purse she made me, with chocolate martini motif!! I love it so much and can't wait to wear it out for drinks one night
She also made me these really cute chocolate truffle and donut earrings! I love them so much because they sort of remind me of those twin shoes by Camper, similar but different!
They match this amazing truffle bracelet which I am modeling here kind of oddly because I can't clip bracelets closed alone too well (and was too excited about the package to clip it closed, lol)
She also sent a chocolate cookbook that she put together for me, hehee she must have known that I LOVE to cook (especially treats!). There are a ton of great recipes inside, including a rum mocha chocolate cake which I am now drooling to try. She included some great chocolate quotes and photographs as well!!
Thanks again hellobint!!! I love it all so much, you did a great job making everything and you were a great partner!! --Jamie
Hey!! I got my package from Ma Rut aka Melissa almost a week ago!!! I have been a big time slacker but have finally gotten the film developed She is an excellent photographer and makes me jealous of her awesome manual camera!!! I adore all of the shots and know that some of them will definitely be hung in our home.
So, without further ado, the photos!!
The awesome frame she made me!! I LOVE the colors and patterns she used, it is all hand painted and looks amazing!!
Here is the back of the frame, personalized with the swap name and our names.
She took TONS of photos of old signs, since those are my all time favorite. I LOVE this one a lot, it totally cracks me up!
Here are a few more good shots of signs and a really cool old cemetery.
This photo is really neat, especially because she took a really similar photo, but the front angel is in focus and rear one is out of focus. It is a cool contrast.
A delightful streetlamp that looks like dragons are holding up the lights.
Cool view of a Coca Cola billboard up close.
There are so many more photos but not enough time tonight to upload them all. I will try to post some to my flickr account and give the link also, but I hope you enjoy this small sampling!!
Included in the can: --Fabric drawstring bag for her dance shoes --Beaded bracelet/necklace (It can be worn either way) --Felt flower headband/necklace/bracelet --Stitched personalized notebook --3 flower pens --Round mirror featuring Aranzi Aronzo characters (sorry if I spelled the name wrong!) --Felt keychain, muffin character on one side, strawberry character on the other --Polymer clay cupcake and ice cream sandwich charms --A few sheets of origami paper, and misc. other craft stuff!
here are close ups of some stuff...
The other side of the keychain: Shot with EX-Z600 at 2007-08-19
The felt flower headband (I think this is my favorite item!): Shot with EX-Z600 at 2007-08-19
I actually might make some of the felt flowers for my cousins for xmas. I had a lot of fun with this swap!
I LOVE the beads she used on these, it is hard to tell in the photo, but the peach ones have these beautiful white beads with blue flowers on them which remind me of that french fabric (I forgot what the fabric is called though!!). The others have nice squishy wool beads on them, I love their colors together!! I think I might cheat and make a pair of each into earrings They are all super pretty!! Thanks again nevergirl!!!
Hello! This is the first sewing project I have made from a pattern. It is McCall's M5390 and it is pattern C. I wanted to make this cute 50s style skirt for our trip to Memphis. Please pardon the ridiculous facial expression (I really don't know where it came from!!) and really bad hair in the second shot... I got home from work and was non stop working to finish this up!! I think it turned out pretty well, except I used too short a zipper so it has to go on over my head (oops) and the high waist might be difficult for me to wear too long. I hope you like it!
*SUPER awesome patchwork zippered cosmetic bag, which totally has sort of a Gwen Stefani vibe to it, with the plaid and houndstooth patterns. I can't wait to use it this weekend when we go out of town!! *Adorable crocheted headband/scarf (see me modeling it sideways (oops) down below!), also, the flower is detachable so I could wear it alone too. *Yummy smelling soaps in fish and orange slice forms (too cute!!) *Crafting goodies including a mini skein of yarn, some pretty lace (blue even!), sequins, and retro themed paper piece set which I am totally envisioning a bracelet made from.
I received my fabulous yarn ball from Instar last night!!! It was super exciting to come home from a long and exhausting day at work to find my boyfriend had brought a package in for me!!!!
Here is the yarn ball all rolled up, look how pretty the yarn is!! Love the color!! It also fades from black to a deep maroon to a rust-ish color to a brighter orange, and there are bits of green in it too!! Super pretty!! For those curious, the yarn is Noro Kureyon color number 128 (it is 100% wool too!) There were a few items on the outside--the AWESOME ladybug massager (said boyfriend will have to give me a massage with it later!!!), some yummy sounding chocolate candies called Smarties (way different from the super sugary smarties I'm used to!), and a tube of lip balm that smells divine!! And the pattern is an awesome felted bag that I cannot wait to start making!!! (hehe and Instar, when you get your package, we think alike!)
Here are all the goodies inside the ball!! I couldn't wait to unroll it!! The very core of the ball held a felted soap which is really neat! I have never had one before, but it totally has intregued me and now I want to try making them! Also inside the ball is a beautiful small skein of handspun yarn! I believe Instar made this yarn herself, and it is so lovely! It would make a great coin purse for the purse pattern she sent, or perhaps it could be crafted into some jewelry?? A crocheted choker might me cool. Also a ton of tootsie roll pops (which I LOVE), and a partner for the lip balm outside the ball, which smells equally as yummy as the other!! She also crafted me some stitch markers which I desperetely needed, some beautiful jewelry, and the coolest necklace I have ever seen in my life!!!! It is a necklace made from a bicycle cog, with wire wrapped so it looks so neat!!!! I LOVE it!!!! It will look so hot with a fancy dress, to give it tons of edge!
Thanks Instar!!! You totally spoiled me with all the goodies!! I love them all so much!
