1  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: South Central / craftsters out there? on: February 12, 2007 01:01:45 PM
Recently moved to Shippensburg, and rather craft lonely.  Anyone nearby?
2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / needle-felted beginnings: seasonal table figures, valentine angel/fairy, goat on: February 09, 2007 07:42:45 AM
I love this light little sweetie for valentine's day.  So-soft alpaca wings from an animal named Laurel Rose (don't you love knowing where your fiber comes from?).   Oh well...I don't mind keeping them!

I've started making a few little figures for my seasonal table.  Also these:

a goat for my in-laws (last name "Goates" ...the curls are from the sheep my nieces raised for 4-H)

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / favorite sources for wool felt on: November 16, 2006 06:21:21 AM
Maybe there's already a list of your favorite wool-felt-buying sites...

interested in cheap, of course, but also interested in lovely softer (hand-dyed?) palette and interesting texture.

If so, could someone direct me to the post?

If not, does anyone have suggestions?

So far, I've bought only at Waldorf school stores.  and the blends I've found at Joanns and some other craft stores, which are nice and dense, but not quite what I'm looking for.
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / glue on: November 10, 2006 08:00:56 AM
I asked this question w/in a thread, too, but what kind of glue do you like for polymer clay?

My daughters & I make a lot of little toys that frequently break

I'm also looking for a glue with some body (so it helps keep the skinny figure upright) to use to anchor a small figure in a very small glass jar for a snowglobe necklace.

Any secrets?

Or other glue faves?
5  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / great gifts? on: November 01, 2006 10:14:28 AM
I'm a new convert to needle felting (my pumpkins and pumpkin girls did turn out extremely adorable!), and want to use my favorite new medium for Christmas gifts for my mother & m-in-law, but am a little unsure what to do.  I was thinking nativity sets, but I've already given them other handcrafted nativities, and should probably branch out.

What's your favorite needle-felted gift to give?
(targets ages 52 & 72)
