1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Packaging? on: December 27, 2007 08:42:13 PM
I ended up buying supplies from Associated Bags because they have a physical location near my home.  When I ordered, I paid over the phone, then asked to pick them up "will call."  Their prices weren't the very best I found online, but for my relatively small order (3 different 100-packs), not having to pay shipping saved me a hefty percentage.  And, since I picked them up the same day I ordered, it was very handy during the Christmas rush (okay, mini-rush...I'm small!).
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / buying shipping supplies on: November 29, 2007 04:42:10 PM
My etsy business (mostly pottery, but some wee needle-felted & stitched stuff) is busy enough that I need to purchase shipping supplies (padded envelopes, gift boxes, bubble wrap) in bulk now.

Does anyone have a favorite supplier?

(how do I have the pic, not just the link, show up?  Are instructions already posted somewhere?  what I did "works" on the other forum I participate in.)

I love this light little sweetie for valentine's day.  So-soft alpaca wings from an animal named Laurel Rose (don't you love knowing where your fiber comes from?).   Oh well...I don't mind keeping them!

I've started making a few little figures for my seasonal table.  Also these:

a goat for my in-laws (last name "Goates" ...the curls are from the sheep my nieces raised for 4-H)

Does look like a good site, but has polyester felt only.

 Undecided
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: Fabric help on: November 16, 2006 06:24:01 AM
i bought some different road map fabrics at Hancock fabrics a few years ago, and have seen others.  They show up now and then.

a couple of years ago I made a simple, unbatted quilt for a road/town playmat for a nephew--different squares of greens, black between w/ embroidered road stripes, blue on the edge for boats & a brown dock, etc.  It was simple (especially since I didn't really have to quilt it), and pretty.
