161  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: My wheel is here!!!! Woot! on: February 22, 2007 01:01:18 PM
Thanks!!!!!!!!!  I just posted my first new mini skein in the CP section, at first I totally couldn't "get it", but it is slowly coming.

I know what you mean about the wait, UPS said it wouldn't be here until Monday (which would've been 11 days to get here), but it surprised me today!  YEAH!!!

I just got my wheel a few hours ago and I am slowly getting the hang of it.  Here is my first overtwisted, not even, unset single.  It is a gorgeous color (Marigold Wool Blend from Spunky Eclectic) and I love it.  LOL!  Let me know what you think.  Thanks for all the help and support already, you all are a font of information!

I am so excited, my Lendrum ST just got here and I just finished putting it together (easy peasy), now I am just staring at it and scared to start.  LOL!  I have a video and tons of fiber, so I guess I should just jump right in.  Wish me luck.   Roll Eyes

Thank you for the compliment.  They are nothing compared to the other ones posted here, but they are my first and I am proud.  Wink
165  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday 2/16/07 on: February 18, 2007 07:32:29 AM
I hope it is okay that I post these here a bit late and that they aren't spun.

This is my first dyed roving, Easter Memories, it is Mill Ends from The Sheep Shed using Wilton Icing Dyes.

And this isn't one I spun, but it is my first dyed yarn, it is the chunky weight from Knit Picks, dyed with Wilton Icing Dyes.  I call it Watermelon Twist.

I have a few more rovings drying now, I cannot wait, my spinning wheel will be here Wednesday and then I can add spun yarn here.

Everything is beautiful!!!

My wheel will be here next week, I am hoping I might be in time for Fiber Friday!  I just got a sampler from Spunky Eclectic today and I can't wait to work with it!
167  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Okay which one? Fricke or Lendrum? And ST or DT?????? on: February 14, 2007 12:19:53 PM
Well thanks ladies, I ended up ordering a ST Lendrum Complete after all.  The wait on the Fricke was just a bit much for me and I like the look of the Lendrum a lot.  I also will get a $40 fiber credit, which is nice.  Hopefully it should ship quicky.

Sorry again for posting a repeditive topic, didn't mean to upset anyone.  Still new here and figuring things out.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry I couldn't get the search to work yesterday.   Embarrassed

Thanks gals, I am leaning towards the Fricke with all my research and price as well.  I just have to decide between the ST or DT now and I am going to just go with the standard flyer and no WooLee winder.

Please take a peek, they are a little sad and tiny, but I am getting the hang of it.  Smiley

This one is with some unknown wool roving that came with my spindle kit

This one is with roving from Smokeymountainfiber s on Etsy, Blue Violet colorway http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=65227

Let me know what you think........not that good, but not too bad for a newbie, right??  Wink

I am off to spin some more from SMF, in a gorgeous merlot colorway.  Smiley  And I have 5 lbs of roving coming from The Sheep Shed and a sampler from Spunky Eclectic and hopefully buying a wheel soon too.  I love spinning and was instantly hooked.
