I finally got to dye up some rovings using my acid dye kit from www.helloyarn.com and I think they turned out pretty good. I cannot wait to spin them up!
This one is 2oz of merino, called American Beauty
This one is 2oz of South African Fine, called Chaos Theory
And this one is 4oz of mill ends from TSS, called Grapevine
I have used Wilton dyes and the colors were okay, but these dyes just work so much better and seem to affect the roving better as well. I can't wait to order more colors and dye a bunch more up!!! Thanks for looking!
Thanks hon, yes they are addictive. While watching my spinning video I did this single too, Hosta colorway in Corriedale from SE too. Get a little more even and not as overspun, still some pretty thin spots tho. I think I am going to try to ply this one with some thread, we shall see.
This will be my last post for today, gotta save up for Fiber Friday.
I just got my wheel a few hours ago and I am slowly getting the hang of it. Here is my first overtwisted, not even, unset single. It is a gorgeous color (Marigold Wool Blend from Spunky Eclectic) and I love it. LOL! Let me know what you think. Thanks for all the help and support already, you all are a font of information!
Let me know what you think........not that good, but not too bad for a newbie, right??
I am off to spin some more from SMF, in a gorgeous merlot colorway. And I have 5 lbs of roving coming from The Sheep Shed and a sampler from Spunky Eclectic and hopefully buying a wheel soon too. I love spinning and was instantly hooked.
