1  Felted Tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by cherokee on: June 15, 2007 06:29:36 PM
Here is a 100% wool tote I crocheted and then felted in the washer. It is about 11" wide and 12" tall. I am very proud of how it turned out. It feels really nice on my shoulders which is a plus. Not sure if the picture will show the true colors but it is mostly brown with off white and blue stripes.
I can't decide whether to line it with cloth or not.....what do you all think? I need some suggestions, eager to start showing it off..... Smiley

2  Picture Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by cherokee on: June 07, 2007 10:52:11 PM
I wanted a way to display a picture of my 2 children and came up with this purse.
The plastic the picture is behind does not photograph well because it does not look that smudgy in person. I guess the flash catches all fingerprints that you don't see.
I made it out of black canvas material that was given to me and the linning is red with white polka dots. The interfacing is 2 layers of fleece linning. This was a very easy purse to make. I made it from a Simplicity pattern. The picture construction was my idea, just bought some plastic that Walmart sells on a roll in the fabric section and sewed it on by hand to form a pocket and added the little flowers I found clearance at Walmart. Slide your photo down behind the plastic from the top.
I made one like this a year ago for a friend and she is still carrying the purse around and it looks just as good as the day I gave it to her so I know the plastic withstands the abuse we put on our purses.

3  Retro Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by cherokee on: May 31, 2007 06:34:43 AM
Here is my purse I finished making at 2:30 this morning.....whew
The picture does not show true color but it is a Navy blue on the outside and the inside is red with small white polka dots. The inside has a pocket with a zipper inserted.
I forgot to mention I installed a magnetic closure after this picture was taken.

4  tapestry crochet horse tote bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by cherokee on: January 24, 2007 08:25:16 AM
This is my first posting and my first completed Tapestry Crochet project.
I really enjoyed making this tote bag. Carol Ventura's patterns are the best. They are very well written and easy to understand. This will be given to my son's teacher whom loves and owns horses.
Hope she likes it.....
Here is the link to the pattern that I used.

Oh and by the way if anyone is wondering what that is beside the purse it is a Native American flute. I make and play them..... Smiley
