341  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Magic Yarn Ball Round 3 on: January 29, 2007 12:14:59 PM
I'm so glad you liked everything! The elephant is a finger puppet (based on Knitty's Puppers) but he looks a little forlorn due to my hand-sewn eyes! I always struggle with embroidery on knitted things! The neck-warmer is loosely based on one in AmaZing's wist.

I have finally taken photos. There's quite a few, but then AmaZing sent LOADS of stuff. Please excuse the swirly carpet, it was inherited!

I'll start with a photo of the ball I sent her:

The two (!) balls I received, the lovely hand-made stitch markers, some escapee lip gloss and the bag project:

Here's everything. Too much to list but includes bags, buttons, tape measure brooches, head bands, lovely hand-made earings, ribbon, some bonus patterns, a hand-embroidered heart design, pens and a cross-stitch kit:

Soooooo many things  Cheesy

There's more. The Calorimetry I made with the main ball of wool:

And some of my favourite things:

but the tape measure brooch and earings ought to be in here too  Smiley

Thanks for a great first swap  Cheesy

Mine arrived yesterday morning. And I've knitted my item. The pattern was Calorimetry so it didn't take so long. My left hand hurts but it was worth it  Cheesy

AmaZing sent the most, erm, amazing package. The main ball stuffed full of goodies, a second mini-ball and a bag project to finish! I will to my level best to take photos and post them up this afternoon but it may take a while to get everything laid out- there's so much stuff! Thanks AmaZing, great first swap. Just hope you like everything I sent to you  Smiley

As I said, pictures to follow!

Mine is on it's way  Smiley

I hoped it would be here when I got in from work. The only parcel is for my husband. Then the doorbell rang- it was a delivery man! But it was also for my husband  Angry

Patience is a virtue I seem to be lacking! Sending mine tomorrow!

KatAutumn, your stuff looks good. Loving the Hello Kitty bag.
345  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Lambs Pride- this stuff rocks- right?? on: January 20, 2007 01:05:43 PM
I'm in the UK too and have bought Lambs Pride Bulky from Get Knitted's web site - I like it! It knits up well and quite quickly. I have to say its the only place I've found that sells it in the UK. Lucky you living near to them  Smiley

Hi,

Thanks for your ideas and comments Smiley It's really nice to get feedback from people I consider experts Cheesy

I have bought some turquoisey-blue binding type stuff. I intend to shorten the hem a bit then edge it with the binding. If I have enough left and the inclination I may do the same to the sleeves.

I'll post a picture once I'm done (which may be a while, I seem to be far too tired to do anything involving much thought at the moment, and sewing requires thought for me (no machine)!).

This is my first swap too - I signed up yesterday. I think I'm even more excited about making a magic yarn ball for someone else than actually getting one (although that'll be great too  Tongue )
350  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Different wool = Different needles??? on: January 07, 2007 07:20:09 AM
Thank you! I will try with two strands held together. I was fairly sure it would be too small but wanted the opinion of people more experienced than me  Cheesy

I'll probably start them later today and will post up when finished!

Thanks again,
Helen
