11  Re: Altered Fairy Tales Swap ~ Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by HelenM on: October 15, 2008 09:45:18 AM
Glad you liked your things Silverwing.

I've just come back from a few days away to an awesome swap package. My fairy tales were Snow White, Rapunzel, The Elves and the Shoemaker and The Frog Prince with these themes: Victorian, Steam punk, Sci-fi, Kind of feminist - the girls are often quite soppy and waiting for the prince, so an alternate to that would be cool (which was quite a hard theme!).
Silverwing did a brilliant job. Here's the loot:

I got two t-shirts, a tote bag, two Victorian Snow White note books, steam punk note cards and stamp, frog stickers and some bonus D10 earings.

Close-up of the Steampunk elf tote:

Thanks ever so much Silverwing, and also to our lovely organizer  Grin

12  Cthulhu T-Shirt in Needlework: Completed Projects by HelenM on: July 30, 2008 01:12:02 PM
So, this is my first post on this board and my first embroidered t-shirt. A brave new world of craft for me but I love it already Cheesy

I'm going to a roleplay convention this weeken and as my husband runs a Call of Cthulhu website I thought it would be appropriate to embroider a Cthulhu t-shirt. On to the pictures:

A close up of Cthulhu himself (even if he is ever so cute and I need to reiron the hoop marks away!)

The stitching of the web address:

(This looks slightly wonky but the t-shirt is u-shaped rather than straight on the bottom. Honest!)

And a rather poor shot showing the position of the embroidery on the t-shirt:

Thanks for looking  Grin

I recieved my items! Cataplum sent me an awesome package of yarn, a crochet hook and a pattern book.

The book contains the best advice for a craft book:

Thanks Cataplum  Cheesy

I was also going to post some photos of what I sent to Baa-me-chick until I realised I forgot to take photos before I sent them Roll Eyes

I am UK based with craft-curious cats.

Here are my things:

Hats (choose one), handmade by me. They have a cabled edge.

A pair of fingerless & thumbless mittens, made by me. They reach from the wrist to mid finger on me.

A selection of materials for papercraft (some part used). Includes stickers, felt shapes, paper stars, metallic shapes, gummed stars and other odds and ends. (I can post more detailed photos if needed).

A spiderweb capelet made by me. Pattern from the Stitch n Bitch Nation book. SHould cover the shoulders and maybe a bit beyond, depending on your height.

Another card making bundle, including a how-to & inspiration guide

Card craft stickers. They're not all in the image as the photo I took was blurry beyond belief! Comprises 12 sheets of stickers. Again a couple of stickers have been used from some of the sheets. The ones not shown are matt plasticey type ones, rather than metallics.

Please ask if you need clarification or more photos.

Cheers,
Helen

16  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap FOCR Gallery in The Swap Gallery by HelenM on: July 10, 2008 12:23:47 PM
I recieved from 3littlechicks!

I got the lovely seaside scarf and cupcake earings. She also put in a few extra cupcakes which will be turned into stitch markers. Onto the photos:

Close-up of the scarf. I think the craft gremlins stole the image of the full scarf. The colours are a lovely greys, browns and creams, not as blue as the it looks in the photo. The whole scarf is very curly and will be perfect for the autumn.

The cupcake earings and a bonus Canada viewer  Cheesy

Thanks 3littlechicks!

18  Re: I Love BUTTONS Gallery in The Swap Gallery by HelenM on: June 18, 2008 12:12:01 PM
Just wanted to say wow to all the buttony craftsters! And also a big thanks to Littlegirlblue, for sending me an awesome package and for posting some photos - sadly my grandad died last week so I've not been around very much.

Here are a couple of extra pics.

This shows the best bracelet ever, made from amazing buttons which has been much admired, the lovely rose earings (I have a bracelet with a large white rose that's a very similar design) and a button stamp.

and here are my buttons.

I've not posted bag pictures again but it's perfect for keeping in my handbag for shopping emergencies!

Thanks again to Littlegirlblue and to Serendipity_Sarah for organising this.

Here's my first attempt at a felt brooch. Sewing is not my forte but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. And I love how felt is rather cheap  Wink

Apologies for the slightly blurred photo Roll Eyes
