1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / appliue shirts and toque on: April 19, 2007 10:24:01 PM
A few applique projects for my little siblings. I'm not sure what I got myself into, now they're asking for more and more Smiley

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / applique t-shirts from old fabrics on: April 19, 2007 10:18:21 PM
When embroidery thread is so cheap at the dollar store, I really can't stop applique-ing all my clothing!

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / picture frames from old hardcover books on: April 19, 2007 10:14:12 PM
I bought a bunch of second-hand hardcover books with pretty designs on them, and used an x-acto to cut out the holes (those books were tougher to cut than I thought!).

I reinforced the back with rigid paper, and glued the paper so the books were slightly bent, so they could stand without being propped up.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / bags from t-shirts, scarves and lifejacket straps on: April 19, 2007 10:08:10 PM
Three bags I made from poorly fitting t-shirts. I used heavier canvas or burlap fabrics to line them because the t-shirt fabric tends to stretch out a lot.

From left to right, the straps are from a lifejacket, scarf and belt.

(the yellow one I sewed some of the excess scarf fabric and a patch on... a bit wonky but fun)
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / no-sew pillows from t-shirts on: April 19, 2007 10:03:20 PM
No sewing involved! All it takes is cutting a lot of tiny strips and tying them into knots. I chose some pretty tacky shirts for these ones, but I feel like a nice shirt or fabric could make for a pretty classy pillow.

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / block print christmas cards (complete w/ photos) on: April 19, 2007 09:57:20 PM
This christmas I crafted a bunch of different cards, made from block prints. Added some buttons and collage here and there...

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / skirts from vintage fabric... and a bathrobe! on: October 08, 2006 09:37:56 PM
Here are three skirts I sewed from various fabrics, using the same template -- a thick tube and then slightly flared squares sewn along the bottom of it... they fit pretty well if I keep trying them on in between sewing!

one from a vintage pillowcase:

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / bomb t-shirt on: September 11, 2006 09:20:47 PM
I took this shirt and used old black and white t-shirt fabric to cut out and sew on this bomb. I used black and white embroidery thread. Fun and quick to do!
