1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Girl Pirate/Wench costume? on: September 13, 2007 02:38:44 PM
Howdy! I have to make a costume for a play. I can be anything I want and I wish to be a girl pirate. I want to make a black corset, put a white shirt underneath, and then have some britches or shorter pants to wear with it. The problem is I have never made any clothing item successfuly.

I make bags and can sew pretty well, but I have not had experience making clothing. I need to make this by October 25th. I am also making a simple dress from a pattern by October 12th for homecomming.

I am wondering a lot of things. Can I make these items (corset; possibly the shirt, maybe not; trousers; and dress;) all in time with them looking good. I am also in school and am trying to find a job. Does anyone have any tips for a n00b like me? Should I watch out for anything? Does anyone know of any tutorials that might help me out? Oh, I am a 38DD, and I wanted to know if any larger-busted craftsters have any tips to help adjust my patterns to help cover these ginormous boobies of mine.

Hopefully you guys can help. Thanks in advance!
