haha! It IS old! Good think you didn't come, it was a pretty awful day - the crowd was really small because it was so rainy! And my stall was right next to a stage, so we often couldnt hear each other speak!

Yay! Thanks so much for volunteering!

I am good to go whenever. I think I would prefer to send/ receive one or two items - I think the impact of how wonderful each individual item is can be lost if there are too many things! Plus it keeps the (almost inevitable) international postage costs down...

I have a nice collection of yogamatbag fabrics - japanese patterns, corduroy, spots, lots of other things too...

26  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: How's your Etsy shop doing now? on: April 20, 2007 10:27:12 PM
That's a brilliant attitude, and is clearly paying off! I would feel so nervous stealing someone else's idea - I would also feel like (and would be) a fraud! For goodness sake, there are a lot of ideas in the world, why not come up with one of your own?

I guess luckily the marketplace is big enough to accommodate the originals and the imitators Tongue

BeaG I don't know how you cope - I get nervous seeing people with products similar to mine - and it's not like I am the first person in the world to make a hat!
28  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Australians on Etsy? Advice please. on: April 20, 2007 07:06:34 PM
Hello! I raised this over at the other forum too and I think people have been adding "australia" in their tags for a while (I know, I also thought that I was the first with that bright idea!)

The site is very north america centric - no one ever replies to my posts about making a search by location function. Oh well!

eep - so many things to remember in this reply....

Trashed - shirts look great! More sizes a really good idea =) Only followed your first link, not the second (so you may already have addressed this) but do you have a model (human or otherwise) that you could show the shirts on? Maybe just one standard image for all listings (cause a lot of people - myself included - prefer not to see the item for sale being worn)? My boyf is a photographer too - he's the secret to my nice photos! Without him I would be blurry, dark, and all kinds of unprofessional (oh, and so would the photos....)

Joi - you are purrdy (oh, and I like your shop too) Tongue

Rocka - I LOVE those dolls!

Kish - at the risk of sounding repetitive... I love those earrings too Tongue

yeah, the etsy geolocater is not actually a particularly useful search tool.
like, you wouldn't use googleearth to find out how to drive to a new place.
