1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What style of dress will give the illiusion of curves? on: July 16, 2008 01:29:44 PM
I want to make a dress for my friend. She wants a dress that will give her flat-ish booty a rounder look. So is there a style that can make that happen? Should I use a particular material? I read somewhere that jersey tends to make you look curvier. What are your guys experiences? Any help would be great.
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Plexiglas Squares on: October 09, 2007 12:55:31 AM
I have about 12 pieces of plexiglas, each about the size of a marble notebook. They where supposed to be used to replace some windows in some french doors in my building, but they where cut too small. The only ideas I've had so far is to make a lightbox for tracing, and maybe a shadowbox or two.  (teehee light and shadow) I just have to buy some wood. But even after those projects I'd still have some left over squares. Any Ideas will be greatly appreciated.
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Flapper Girl with flowered hat. on: July 09, 2007 06:29:16 PM
I made this for GatsbyGirl for the Ongoing wist swap v.23. She's received so I thought I'd throw up this post.

It was my first time embroidering on a shirt. It was actually a bit of a pain being that I'm still a novice and didn't have any stabilizer. I used tissue paper instead which worked out OK. I got the image from a hat pattern from the 20's, but I tweaked it a bit. The hat and flowers are felt that I blanket stitched onto the shirt. The outlines are done in split stitch, the hair, eyes, and mouth are satin stitch. The earrings and necklace are beads strung on metallic floss.
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / I <3 Tea/Coffee/Cocoa Swap #.... um....whatever we're up too. on: February 21, 2007 08:42:43 PM
Inspired purely by how cold my apartment is right now. Cheesy Any takers? There's been some pretty great stuff in the previous swaps. Lemme know and I'll get it started. It might be the last one before we have to change it to the Lemonade/ Ice Tea/ Koolaid swap, lol. Grin
-edited to add:-
Ok so it seems like it would be round 4. Here are the galleries of one, two, and three.
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I am the DJ... on: July 05, 2006 10:32:22 PM
I found this little plastic turntable in my basement. I think it belonged to a knockoff Barbie, but not any more. I turned it into a necklace.

I like it but I still think it needs something. Maybe painting the record silver(it's removable)? I was also thinking about maybe adding the phrase I am the D.J. some how. Maybe shrinky dink paper. I dunno. What do you guys think?
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / Box O' Craft on: July 05, 2006 10:15:42 PM
So I was cleaning out the basement last week and I found what i thought was a recipe card box, but no it was much better it was a box of craft cards! Yay! Here are some examples:

There are just way to many to scan. I like the penguin bag and the copper jewelry the best. But the pasta jewelry struck me as funny. I'll probably post some more some other time.
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Shiny Purple Beaded Set on: July 05, 2006 08:53:52 PM
Just got some new beads from eBay and I decided to make myself a whole set of jewelry.

Earrings, necklace and bracelet. I wanted to make an anklet too but I ran out of chain. Perhaps its for the best. That might have been overkill.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Microscope Slide Name Plate on: June 30, 2006 05:08:01 PM

This is a pretty crappy picture. I'll try to take a better one in the morning. I was inspired by Annette's heart necklace. I liked how the the wire looked between glass and wanted to try out a signature. Then I dumped in a bunch of star sequins. I need to get some chain to attach it to. I pretty happy with it.
