Those are beautifully made! On the inside of the first one, is that a piece of ribbon connecting to one of those hook things? I'm thinking of putting one of those in the bag I'm making for my mom but I never thought of putting it on ribbon. That would certainly make things easier!
Thanks for the nice comments. I learned A LOT so I think my next one won't take nearly as long (I hope). The lining is satin (Atom Red, I think it was called) and shed like no fabric I've ever seen. My house is -covered- in red strings right now. Still fun though, and I agree with all the people I've seen who've said it: This is definitely going to be an addictive hobby.
You guys have been inspiring me for months (over a year, maybe?) and I finally got around to making my own bag. The fact that my old one was turning into little shreds of fabric helped too... So this is my first finished bag and my first finished sewing machine project in general (note the "finished" part). I'm happy with it, although I have already discovered some things that I'd like to fix. And a plug for this thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11808.0. This was honestly one of the best tutorials I've ever followed.
