1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ha, take THAT, husband! on: February 13, 2007 10:03:06 PM
So, my husband is always complaining of seeing me endlessly knitting but never finishing or wearing a completed project.  Yes, it's true, it's true.

I thought, what a better present for him on Valentine's Day than a finished product from his lovely wife!  Take that!  I can finish things (occasionally)!  What resulted is a decent pair of socks (my first attempt actually), and I'm pretty proud.  I used the cuff-to-toe formula from Knitty and a nice variegated yarn.  Hopefully Husband will like them too.

What do y'all think?

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Well, Crap: Bad Day Doing Laundry on: February 04, 2007 08:47:32 AM
So, it took me practically forever to knit this certain scarf, but finally I finished it!  And it was surprisingly beautiful and becoming on me!  It was a perfect success!  However, yesterday I decided to put it in the next load of laundry.  Apparently not a good idea...

The yarn was completely synthetic so I thought, Hey just wash and wear, right?  No.  I think the dryer did its evil magic too well and now it feels like its been melted together and it's rough and unwearable.  And I dont know if it can be fixed...

Crap.  I really liked it too...

Lesson to be learned:  NEVER WASH ANYTHING... that, or keep your yarn wrappers...
