21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / Re: My dad isn't a normal dad on: March 29, 2007 04:54:28 PM
Well... can you knit?  I think Knitty's Binary scarf or Magknit's Techguy socks would be quite awesome.

Otherwise, have you tried a custom mousepad?  Here's a link http://desktoppub.about.com/od/transfers/l/aa_mousepad.htm

Does he have a rubik's cube?  That could be fun, and you could jazz it up maybe?  Ive always wanted to be able to speedcube...

Oooh ahh... awesome octopus!  Mind if I ask what's he holding?  Looks kind of a Molotov cocktail  Tongue

Awesome, I love Bowie too - and he's here at his androgynous best!  Very cool.
25  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: IWK-Dollar & A half Cardigan? on: March 23, 2007 11:23:31 AM
Dang!  You're so much more productive than I am.  Havent even finished my back piece yet.

I dont think your button hole discrepancy will matter much, especially if you'll be wearing it buttoned (barely be able to see the difference).  It looks great though, and your cable looks very well-defined and striking!
26  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: NIN - Art is Resistance - creating anything on: March 22, 2007 04:18:13 PM
By the way...

It may need some tweaking, but I'll give it a test.

I did the same thing and went crazy with the last tour (I thought it might be the last time I'd see them for another 5 years!)  So my husband and I saw them 5 times (Irvine, Oakland, Mountain View, Santa Cruz, and Las Vegas, ah it was great).

The lyrics of Only were sort of whack, but I cant resist that disco beat!  I was sort of disturbed to see the video on VH1 though,  Undecided

So, I finished my chart for the Presence, and I want to do it in black and white, BUT I also want a static-y look to it around the edges?  Any suggestions on how to make an image less perfect looking (without felting)?  I was thinking maybe double stranding the black and white together around the outside... I dont know.
28  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: snazzing up ugly awnings? on: March 21, 2007 09:54:02 PM
Oh snap, for some reason I thought they were the cloth type.  Yeah, the metal ones tend to be pretty ugly.

Paint anyway?  I dont know what color though.

I had this really terrible idea about turning them into thatched roofs with palm fronds.  That would be really hideous.  Dont do it.

I would probably just redo them in an weather-proof fabric - that is if you can take off the fabric without destroying the frame and, hopefully, leave it in tact so you can make a pattern.

Or, you could paint them maybe?  Oil based paint, I suppose.  Probably not a totally permanent solution but it would make them look better.

I agree with you that it's good that Trent's moving on to bigger and better things.  I guess him being an old(er) dude it would be sort of ridiculous to be stuck in the lyrical style of Pretty Hate or whatnot.

I havent gotten into the ARG, but I love the whole secret websites and messages going on, so cool.  Have you heard My Violent Heart?  I guess they say it was left on a flash drive in portugal and purposefully leaked by Reznor and crew.

Cant wait for a tour.

I'll start a prototype for my Presence thing tomorrow when Spring Break begins for me. Yay.
