101  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Bath Salts (step-by-step pics) and a Question on: December 22, 2006 10:03:56 AM
Uh, the milk may get a little funky if your salts are at all moist.  It may not turn rancid (I'm not sure about that) but at least it'll probably turn the color of the salts and ruin the milk and coffee effect.  Maybe you could find a recipe for a milk/cream hand salve or something like that to package along side the salts?

Very cool eggs.  The past two years I've been making eggs for Christmas gifts too, but I'm not sure if I'll get around to them this year...

What kind of varnish did you use?  I've been using a spray varnish, which is easy, but doesnt do much to thicken up the shell.

Speaking of smelly eggs, one of my first eggs I didnt blow out and I set it in a planter in my house.  A few months later, there was this terrible smell and we thought something died underneath our house.  I even made my husband invesigate under the house but there were no animal corpses to be found.  Later, I realized that the egg had exploded/cracked/whatever and that was the stink.  Gross.

Anyway, again, cool eggs.  Maybe I should draw up some designs and get working...
