That's lovely and amazing! I dream of having a similar situation some day...where-ish do you live and how much more of a growing season do you get with that green house? I live in upstate NY and our growing season is just too short for me. Well for the veggies that I love, root veggies grow for a long while here.

Lovely silhouette. Did you use a pattern? The fabric looks like jersey, yes? I'd love to know more details - I'm always interested in sleeveless dresses that still look good on busty ladies Smiley

That's really great!! My husband always waxes poetic on what he will do to our basement once we actually own a home. I especially love your weapons chest and all the details you've added to the place. I'll bet it really sets the mood for your games!

woodland_faerie asked my to post some photos of what I made for her because the corset needs a little fixing up before she can take some action photos. I did a post on the clothing board so you can see the stuff here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=344298.0

Also, the dryad finally told me her name...well, a name that I can call her anyway! She's Melia Smiley

You did such a beautiful job!  I have been meaning to try my hand at corset making, but so far haven't been brave enough.  The one you made is gorgeous!

Well I think it's a good time to try it out then! I find that making corsets isn't as hard as it is tedious. I used the tutorial here: http://www.darkleather.net/DarkLeatherFrameset.htm to draft the pattern for the corset but did not follow the instructions for actually sewing it together. Instead, I used a method I learned from making the Truly Victorian 110 pattern (http://www.trulyvictorian.com/catalog/110.html) which I cannot recommend enough to start out corsetmaking. The one pattern is multi-sized and includes pretty easy-to-follow instructions for finding a proper fit, doing the mock-up, sewing it together, putting in a busk and boning, and lacing it up. Heather, the woman who drafted it, is also available on the forums on her website to answer questions you have as you go along.
If you use inexpensive fabric and industrial zip ties for boning (found in the plumbing section of hardware stores), it's not that pricey of a venture.

I like the leaf pockets and the pointed hood! Did you machine or hand embroider?

I used my machine but it doesn't have an embroidery function or anything, just a freehand zig-zag stitch.

I participated in the For the Love of Faeries swap (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=337308.0) and made this for my partner, woodland_faerie.
I tried to make her an entire outfit and all she needs is a shirt to go under the corset Smiley

It was all a lot of fun to make and very inspiring! It was also hard to part with everything.  You can also see the amazing package I received from her: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=344239.0

I received from woodland_faerie today and she just went so far above and beyond for this swap; my jaw dropped when I opened the box.

She sent me a gorgeous faerie illustration, complete with customized frame; a butterfly in resin; an absinthe spoon with a holed rock - two great ways to see faeries Wink and an incredibly impressive art doll. She also sent a fabric patch with a satyr illustration that my DH spirited off before I could photograph it.
So pictures:

The details on the dryad really take my breath away. She has not yet told me her name but you can click through the pictures to my Flickr gallery to see that she was a very good model. She definitely knows what makes her look good and was not shy in telling me what to do!

Thank you, thank you woodland_faerie! I'm completely bowled over by the awesomeness of your work!
