Gah! I am such a procraftinator! I was planning to get my bookmarks done this coming weekend, and only just realized that a) the 5th is a Sunday, and b) the 6th is Labor Day. Someone please tell me I'm not the only flaky non-flaker out there! Meanwhile, I'll be PMing my group to say I can't send until the 7th.
One of the great things about the bookmark swap galleries is the fact that, while everyone's making the same thing, there's an amazing variety of styles. Very fun and inspirational!
That being said, I would like to share the first bookmark I've received, a multilevel, multilingual mouse marker, made by cassiecate57:
Here's a closeup of the beady bits:
I love how the blue bead is a little mouse with white felt ears and long plastic tail. Thanks much, cassiecate57 -- I love it!
Glad you like the skunk cross-stitch! I actually found the pattern for that online. I had patterns for dogs, cats, sheep, ferrets, bunnies, birds, bugs...but no skunks!
I got my card from gossamer_gull! My scan of the card isn't very good but it's got all kinds of bits and things and textures. She included a couple of my themes non-paper and red. The shooting star is my favourite part. Thanks gossamer_gull! I love it
Yay -- the card arrived with all the bits and bobs still attached! Glad you like it!
And here's the amazing "Papa Legba Veve" that Oyhana made for my Voodoo theme:
If I had to be shipwrecked on an island with one book...hmmm...the Complete and Unabridged OED?
I'm assuming you mean Oxford English Dictionary. Not a bad pick. I'd take a reference book too. Probably the latest AP Style Guide so that I could have a stack of technically perfect articles and press releases to submit about my experience.
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. It occurred to me that, if I took a book and came across unfamiliar words and had no way to look them up, I'd go (coco)nuts!
And The complete OED is, what, 20+ volumes long? I'd never run out of material!
