21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Does this look hideous? on: April 01, 2007 02:24:27 PM
Love the print of the material! The feathers are cool, but so totally not my thing. I'm more of a minimalist when it comes to handbags.
22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Whoo hoo~ Figured out zippers. on: April 01, 2007 08:52:25 AM
It took me a loooooong time, but i finally figured out how to put a zipper into a purse in a way that looks good and actually works.

I made the beige purse for my mom. I like the navy, red and white one better. I still have lots of that fabric left, so I'm going to make a larger purse with it and put some pockets inside. Smiley

fineGirl, i added you to my favs on etsy!  you have some adorable stuff!!!

maybe we can trade jewelry for address labels!   Wink

i will actually personal swap any craftster/etsy owner for one sheet of labels (or more, depending on what we swap) provided i can use a picture of it when listing more labels!  PM me!

Thanks. Smiley I'll keep the addy labels in mind for the future, but I just bought a whole bunch not too long ago. They'll last me for a while.

I need another idea for promoting my shop. I've done all the regular stuff. I need a new idea. Nothing seems to be working for me right now.

Run a contest - I'm running one this week and my sales have flown through the roof! Here's what my sale says (on my Shop Announcement):

"Luck o' the Irish" Contest:

Anyone who makes a purchase between March 8th and March 17th will automatically be entered in a random drawing for a prize of your choice: Choose either 1 pair of earrings or 1 pendant (Pictures of prizes are listed below as "DO NOT BUY - MARCH PRIZE") The more items you purchase, the more entries you have... so buy, buy, buy! Smiley

The drawing will be held on March 18th

I've had nothing but multiple-item sales and repeat customers. Hopefully that helps you!

That's a great idea. I may have to do something like that. Thanks Smiley

I am soooo digging this wrapping wire around recycled bits and pieces. I love, love the look of the pieces I've created this way.....here is my latest.

Plus, I made a couple sales over the last few days! Hooray. Although, one was a PIF. LOL

Hey, I posted this in Jewelry, but I think it goes better here - Do you guys think I should post this pendant on Etsy? The drawing itself is perfect but theres a slight ripple in the side so its not completely flat... just wondering if "hand-made" can also be described as "slightly imperfect"..? I mean, the pendant is great I just don't want someone to feel like its not up to par.... any input would be greatly appreciated!

I already listed this one (this one came out perfect)

This is the tiny ripple:

(please remove images in quotes--thanks! --EmilyFlew)

You could post it, but at a discount and be honest about the ripple.

I've tried both. But, when I am buying, I know I like to see a good description detailing size, materials, shipping info. Those are the three biggies. Smiley
