1  Re: One for Me, One for You the 3rd Discussion & Gallery in The Swap Gallery by weet! on: October 05, 2010 05:57:02 PM
I got my package from zilamonster last week! Yes, Im a terrible person and didn't find time to post pics until now Sad.
But I love everything! She made the project I was really hoping for plus more!
Sooo here's the extras

a knitting project bag that i found some sewing notions hidden in and the left over yarn from the main project

it's very nice yarn, I'm not sure whether the one on the left is handspun or not. It will definitely get used! I have a lot of knitting projects planned  Cheesy

zilamonster said if I didn't like the project bag that her feelings wouldn't be hurt at all and she would pay for return postage because she liked it so much. Well I regret to inform you, I love it (and really needed it too!) and will not be sending it back. As you can see, it's already in use Tongue

annnnd the main attraction!
A cobweb scarf! I love it and it's so warm and bulky (in a good way and it's about to get cold enough here to wear it) and the bright red is amazing.
Once someone gets home tonight I'll try to get an action shot so you can see how it's linked together Smiley

Thanks so much zila! I hope you enjoy my package as much as I do yours  Grin

2  Re: Handspun Yarn & Fiber Swap Round 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by weet! on: July 29, 2009 03:38:08 PM
Embarrassed i feel really bad..i received quite awhile ago and took pictures but then put off posting til the next day then totally forgot!
but i had a really great swap with Nesse! we talked quite a lot and apparently we like ALL the same things when it comes to yarn so it was an easy swap too (just picked out everything that i like hehe), and i received a great package. oh and Nesse made me a magic yarn ball but i didnt have a camera around when i opened the package and there as no way i was waiting so i dont have a before picture Roll Eyes

so the plan was for her to send me 4oz fiber and 3oz yarn but i think she went a bit over! im not upset though..its all hand pulled roving (which ive never had the chance to try before so it should be fun!). i also said that alpaca and cormo are my fav animal fibers and thats definitely what i got!

starting with the pink one on the end: falkland, millends, cormo, bamboo
2nd: alpaca, millend, bamboo (i think this is my fav)
3rd: alpaca, millend, bamboo also
4th: alpaca, merino, cormo
5th: coopsworth, millend, alpaca, merino

alpaca, cormo, and bamboo plied with thread

everything on the green paper is what was in the magic yarn ball. its mostly add-in stuff for art yarn but there was also some amazing hand made soap in there! everything in the package smells really good because of it Tongue off to the side theres 2 project bags and a first issue of R2 knitting magazine

loofa soap! it smells delicious

thank you so much Nesse! it was a really fun swap  Cheesy

3  Re: I Want What I Can't Craft Swap (Round 2) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by weet! on: October 28, 2008 06:01:14 PM
soo i got my package... a little more than a week ago...my only excuse for not posting pics is it was my 21st bday last week and different friends took me out for drinks like 4 days in a row (i usually only have time to do craftster stuff at night). and well after that i just kinda forgot, so im sorry dinosaurus meg!
i got the best package EVER! Grin

i asked for an embroidery kit and i got an awesome, very complete one, with 2 towels and a pillowcase to start out with! she even drew a bunch of designs herself and gave me an iron-on transfer pen. (sorry i just realized i didnt take pics of the designs

2 cute little zip pouches and large bag for groceries or when i go stay the night at my bf's  Smiley

and heres my favorites...

lace hat and hand warmers! she made up the pattern for the hand warmers herself too Cheesy

i was trying to take a good action pic of the hat but it just wasnt working out since none of my roommates are home to take pics for me..so i decided to go without.
i love everything in my package! definitely best swap i ever had!

so i got my package from lotuspixie yesterday!
i just wanted to say, i've only done one other craft swap (besides this one and a supply swap)(just remembered i did the art yarn swap recently which did go well, sorry Tongue), the first swap i did really made me want to never do swaps again. i did receive a package but it really seemed to me like it was all slapped together in like 20 mins maybe, when i spent sooooo much time hand sewing the thing i made, and they didn't even thank me!

well i have to say lotuspixie totally restored my faith in swaps! i got so much awesome stuff!
here is everything but one...

...these leg warmers are the best hand knitted thing i've ever been given! i love the acorns! my bf said i look silly but that's ok because he doesn't have to wear them hehe

the acorns are so cute

2 apple cozys! (the other one is pumpkin colored)

acorn pin cushion. the little leaf pins are perfect  Tongue

recipes!

and a poppet! i've only seen these once or twice around craftster...she's really cute

i actually really excited to make this little spool knit critter  Cheesy

thank you so much lotuspixie!

5  Re: Handspun Art Yarn Swap Round 2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by weet! on: April 22, 2008 11:18:57 PM
i got a great package from dollface! lots of different types of sheep's wool and the most ridiculously soft llama wool i've ever felt, most of it very nicely hand carded (although admittedly, i haven't felt much of any llama wool so i don't know if its just always like that).
heres everything...

theres a lot of shiny things, feathers, fabric and some koolaid dyed, hand spun yarn. i told her how i haven't tried dying wool yet but definitely wanting to so she also sent some koolaid and instructions (not pictured) on how to do it!
heres pics of just the fiber

thanks dollface!
