i got some beautiful stargazer lillies from my now boyfriend back on Valentines day. since then they've been one of my favorite flowers, the colors are just so bright. so i googled a photograph of one and painted my version of it using acrylics and watercolors. it was the first painting i had done in a couple years, but i was very satisfied with the end result.
I <3 Anne Rice, and love all of her books, well when i came across an XL Interview With The Vampire t-shirt on ebay, it had to be purchased ^^. I followed the tutorial on www.deborahmerlo.com for the recon t, and i love how it turned out. i didn't have a buckle to use for the lace shoulder strap, so i just made a regular strap and let excess length hang from the back.
i've been wanting to make one of these, so since i couldn't fall back asleep early this morning i got started. thanks to the instructions it turned out awesome, especially after some heavy ironing. i probably will not be adding the belt, this way it's a bit more versatile and i can wear it to work and not worry about matching a shirt to it ^^. thanks for this awesome project!
well if you have a lot of girlfriends that use cell phones you could make them cell phone charms.
if you want to know how to make them i have some instructions here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=17430.0 they're really easy and take like five minutes to put together. i've made a bunch to sell and give away as small gifts, everyone usually really loves the idea.
i finally got to finish the rest of my batch tonight. my favorite is the drama and comedy masks, even though it's not really mardi gras masks i used the signature colors ^^, i might have to keep that one.
my aunt bought me a cell phone charm earlier this year and i hadn't taken it off my phone till just recently. getting bored with my plain ol' black cloisenne charm, i went down to hobby lobby and bought some charms for about 50 cents a piece and some assorted beads. for mine i just use clear elastic cord and crimp beadsto secure both ends. they take about five minutes each to make.
the one on my phone is a seahorse ^^. there's also a fairy and two gummy bear beads that came off a bracelt that i've had since childhood.
I got my beautiful scarf in the mail today from funkyolive, i love it! it's black and hot pink and made with that pretty eyelash yarn [i guess that's what it's called, i was a horrible knitter so i never got into the technicals ^^] it's so soft. [so happy!]
i found this nice blue womens button up shirt at goodwill a few weeks ago and wanted to make a tube top out of it since it was too big for me to wear to work. well after cutting and sewing i was still having issues making the top of the bust fit firmly without too much tuggage on the buttons causing the much feared 'bra peepage' : \. well i found some pretty ribbon in my reserves and tacked it just along the front of the shirt so it pulls up right under my arms to form a halter. i like it a lot, i wish i had more to add to it, because it's got that cute sophisticated but girly feel to it.
just wanted to add that i made one of these. i added some of that shirt paint medium to my mix and it works out really well, it makes the paint a lot softer. do you get a lot of odd looks when you wear yours kinini? i wore mine today and people looked at me[or my boobs] like i had a third eyeball or something . again, wonderful idea, i <3 you for it.
That's so cool that you made one!! Take a pic and add it as a comment to this thread!
HAHAHA ya!!! i wore it at my school (an ART school) and got werid looks from some people, and some people didn't seem to think twice. (artists are, after all, weird.) But then i wore it to a bar, and GEEZE so many people took double takes, and STARED. I thought it was pretty funny, cuz i was definately the weirdest dressed person in the bar.
I can't wait to wear it AFTER halloween!
oh yea, i'll definately sport this after halloween too .
