11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Little Odd-ball Yarn Swap - Round 2 - Gallery on: July 08, 2008 05:10:11 PM
I received from craftADDchick yesterday, and I'm so pleased with all my yarn!

I already started using the yarn, which is going into my hexagon scrapghan (and little bits go to my yo-yo blanket).

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / "Quilted" wooden jewelry box on: June 26, 2008 11:47:05 AM
Another item I sent out for a recent swap that I'm really happy with. It was sooo hard to send this one away. If I can find more of these boxes I plan on making some as gifts for friends and family.

The box is just cheap balsa wood, but with a coat of paint and decoupaged with scrapbook paper it looks simply lovely.

The top was done in a sort of mosaic style, and I debated putting some more decorations (buttons or charms) in the blue field. I thought it looked better empty, though.

The inside only has two of the colors, but it shows of the pattern of the papers.

My swap partner really loved it, so the huge amount of time spent cutting little squares was worth it.

Thanks for looking

I made a crocheted bowl - okay, I have designed a few of them - but one of them was turned upside down and worn as a hat and got published that way Cheesy

The best thing is that he has no idea how many people have now seen him in his bowl hat.
15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Funky paper bangle on: June 25, 2008 08:48:46 PM
I made this for my partner in a swap, who has finally received her package. The base was a wooden bangle, which was covered in strips of contrasting scrapbook paper and decoupaged.

The colors are darker in life and the contrast not quite as obvious. The subtle change is what makes the bracelet.

I finally got some new batteries for my stupid camera, and so I can finally post my package from mamaAnn. Yay!

First, all loot together...

She made me a felted bowl that my boyfriend promptly decided to wear as a hat. He's a strange man, but cute, so I'll keep him.

Closeups of the jewelry she sent me: a pink spiral charm bracelet, a charm, and a necklace with this incredibly awesome Mona Lisa pendant on it (my favorite thing out of the whole package).

I also received some crafty supplies. The round thing is stickers, there's a cupcake iron-on, and the box is to make those glass magnets.

The best thing was, when I opened up the magnet kit, inside was this little penguin like a prize in a cereal box. He's so cute! I love penguins  Cheesy

Here's the sorter box and crochet hook she sent. Can you ever have enough?

Last but not least is the bunch of super-fly bookmarks she made me, that are currently living in several books.

Thanks mamaAnn!

19  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Look @ what I crocheted w/ my FINGER! on: June 19, 2008 12:33:29 PM
That's beyond awesome. I love the fact that it's a conversion piece, and the fact that you crocheted it with your finger just doubles the cool factor.

That's freaking awesome. I LOVE that little guy, and every time I see that billboard I laugh.
