i think that the amount of time between putting your name on the waitlist for ravelry and getting your invite has decreased signifcantly.  i heard it's about two weeks now?  maybe less?  anyone know?

how big are we talking?  like, one full panel?  i'm making that hat right now with six panels on size 8 needles, and it fits me.  i'm just worried it won't be long enough! 

how far into it are you?  if you're not too far, i think you'll be happier with the finished results if you frog and reknit...

it's funny, growing up in hawaii we frequently wore beanies and long sleeved tops and hoodies!  now when i go back to visit, i can't even imagine wearing long sleeves...  i didn't learn to knit until i moved to washington, but i would say that you could knit lots of tanks and tees out of cotton and cotton blends!

one of the dh's coworkers asked me to knit him a sweater.  this is a biiiiig guy, with a biiiiig ol' pot belly (short rows, anyone?).  i think i quoted him $600 plus materials.  that scared him away!  i really really really didn't want to knit that much stockinette!

i have one pair of tips and a few cables, and i'm hoping i get more for my birthday...  they're super smooth, even smoother than bamboo.  i've heard tell of people getting faulty tips, but you can just send them back and get a replacement if this happens.

oh no!  that's super sucky!  well, not really since the air won't suck out, but....  ok, that was bad.  i need sleep!

that is super lame, though.  i think i've had that happen, where i leave feedback before realizing that something is broken...  maybe you could change the feedback somehow?  or contact ebay to let them know that this seller is selling faulty products?

i third the ravelry rec.  that's how i met my most awesomely awesome knitting group!  of course, it's my first knitting group, but they are seriously awesome!
