1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Does it matter what side you pull the screen filler thu? on: April 01, 2011 01:08:45 AM
Hey Guys,

I'm doing my first screen print using drawing fluid and screen filler.. i've just notice my squeegee is too large to fit into the 'right side' of my screen? Can i put the filler on the back of the screen, technicly i quess it should be the same, although my screen wont be flat while i pull the filler through? Will this matter? Hope that makes sense and probabaly a really daft question? Its a present for my better half so want to get it right x

Thanks x x
2  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / U.K. AND IRELAND / Leeds Community Clothes Exchange on: January 11, 2009 01:21:08 PM

Leeds Community Clothes Exchange is a community project encouraging the recycling and exchange of clothes, accessories, bags etc.. in order to develop community spirit and reduce consumption and raise awareness of unethical consumer habits.

We all have clothes lying around we dont wear , either they dont fit right, sit right, look right or whatever! Most people impulse buy- decide they dont like it and it sits gathering dust or simply thrown away.

The irony is plenty of items that would look amazing on you are going to waste!!

HOW IT WORKS:

Each item will be awarded at least one token and more than one if the item is large eg. coat or extra special.

Each token will allow you to take away one item, some items worth more than one token.

Donations should be in reasonable condition and washed

Ideally we would like to collect items before the day of exchange, all you have to do is contact us and we will collect donations and dispatch tokens. However you can bring items down on the day!

Alterations on site by local designers/sewers!!

So raid your wardrobes, get involved and perhaps find yourself the perfect outfit for FREE!!

However, we will have a donations bucket this time round to help us cover costs. Suggested donation will be 1, but this is completely voluntary :-)

Get in touch for collections. We will collect from LS1 - LS6.

Are they any tips or rules when using stretchy fabric? Any particularly types of stitching or sewing machine settings that might help?
