1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Discontinued Fabric? on: November 07, 2005 06:46:42 PM
Does anybody know where I can find a discontinued print by P. Kaufmann called "carousel"?  I really want to use it in a baby quilt, and I can't seem to find it anywhere.  Thanks for any help.
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Cool Halloween Towns? on: September 25, 2005 10:19:42 PM
So, I'd just like to know where some really great Halloween towns are.  I used to live in Athens, Georgia (a total college town), and on Halloween the streets in downtown are filled with people in all sorts of great costumes.  There is no point in having a party there because it is so much more fun to see everyone downtown,  in the approx. 40 or so bars.  The best thing about it was that you didn't have to go to one location; the party was literally all over downtown.  I'm looking for that same sort of atmosphere elsewhere.

Currently, I live in Pensacola, FL and I can tell you from last year that there is only one bar in town to go to for Halloween, and only about half the people there will dress up.  Pensacola sucks for Halloween.  I'd love to hear about your town.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Something is definately wrong on: December 23, 2004 12:46:51 AM
I'm really not sure what has happened, and I can't post a picture because I'm on vacation.  I'm making a cell phone cozie for my mom.  This is my third cozie, but the first one I've done on circulars.  See I need to finish it by Christmas... should be no problem since the others only took a few hours.  My problem is the stich looks completely different than normal stockinette.  Its as if the right leg of the "v" is really loose and the left leg is really tight.  When you look at the whole you see columns of "/" seperated by straight lines, but no "v"s.  I don't think I'm doing anything different.  I'm just using the circulars as if they were straight.  This is really the first time I've ever worked with circulars.  Is this normal?  Has anyone else had this problem?  I probably can finish the project the way it is, but I hate knowing is looks defected.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
