1  UNITED STATES / Nevada / Re: Reno Crafty Group! on: October 25, 2007 02:39:32 PM
Hi, I just wanted to let anyone interested know that the Reno Stitch N' Bitch is still meeting every Wednesday at 7pm at Bibo's Coffee on Mt. Rose Street.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Discontinued Fabric? on: November 07, 2005 06:46:42 PM
Does anybody know where I can find a discontinued print by P. Kaufmann called "carousel"?  I really want to use it in a baby quilt, and I can't seem to find it anywhere.  Thanks for any help.
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Cool Halloween Towns? on: September 28, 2005 05:46:53 PM
Thanks for all the input guys.  I think I will have to make a pilgrimage to several of these cities on future Halloweens.  It makes me happy just thinking about it.
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Cool Halloween Towns? on: September 25, 2005 10:19:42 PM
So, I'd just like to know where some really great Halloween towns are.  I used to live in Athens, Georgia (a total college town), and on Halloween the streets in downtown are filled with people in all sorts of great costumes.  There is no point in having a party there because it is so much more fun to see everyone downtown,  in the approx. 40 or so bars.  The best thing about it was that you didn't have to go to one location; the party was literally all over downtown.  I'm looking for that same sort of atmosphere elsewhere.

Currently, I live in Pensacola, FL and I can tell you from last year that there is only one bar in town to go to for Halloween, and only about half the people there will dress up.  Pensacola sucks for Halloween.  I'd love to hear about your town.
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: The Mix Tape Project on: September 25, 2005 04:11:30 PM
This is awesome.  I just don't know if Pensacola is cool enough for it to work here.  I so want to start one though.  Oh, and I love that the tape includes Patsy Cline and Smashing Pumpkins...it really mix of everything.  Man, I miss mix tapes.

Wow, that's great.  You did a really good job with a very intricate design.  I don't even see any bleeding with all those small lines on the leaves.  I have to ask how do you get white on a darker background to come out so perfect without gloming it on?
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Diaper Cakes on: September 24, 2005 07:31:21 PM
I made a diaper cake for my sister's baby shower last month and it was a total hit.  Here is the picture:
I've also made one for a baby boy:
I use huggies size 1 diapers and don't use glue or anything to to keep them together.  I just sort of roll up and hold together as many as I can then tie a string around them to hold them together.  I just keep adding the groups together and holding them together with more string.  When it gets big enough, I use baking dishes for molds for each tier.  I eventually cut out any extra string except for the very outside of the layer, and that is hidden beneath the ribbon.  Then I just tuck in lots of goodies like Boudreaux's, J&J baby wash, some pacifiers, and I top is with a soft plush rattle.

Hi, sorry about the delay in responding.  I haven't checked this thread in awhile.  I started a crafting group a few months ago, but we've only really had 2 meetings so far.  The first one we did glass etching, and at the second one we did t-shirt stenciling.  I'm planning to have the next one on Sunday, June 5th around 6pm.  I haven't even decided on what craft to do, but I'm considering crochet flowers.  If you have any suggestions or are interested in coming, please e-mail me and I can get you more details.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Fess up, who's got a knitting blog? on: February 15, 2005 07:00:13 PM
I just started mine last month, and I'm still getting used to the idea of posting frequently.  So far I only have 3 posts, but I fully intend to add more.  It actually is more for all my crafts but will include knitting because that is what I spend the most time doing.  Anyways, the site is www.craftshack.blog spot.com.   I'm hoping to find recruits for a crafty club in Pensacola.  Wish me luck!
