Vore det inte roligt att ses i verkligheten och crafta lite tillsammans? Tex. starta ett "stickkaf" och ses lite d och d och fika och sticka?
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Thrift store shirt reincarnated on: October 08, 2006 11:15:32 AM
Salvation army thrift store "auntie's polyester shirt which I wouldn't be caught dead wearing" before....

...and after!
(I know, the pics are blurry... I just can't stand posting pictures of myself in that cold, judgemental light....)

It's a little more feminine, and with the high waist it will elongate the silhouette to make me look taller than I am! If not perfect, then at least better than before!
13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Golden toiletry purse on: October 01, 2006 06:26:06 AM
I have this co-worker who is always amazed at how much I craft. I always go out during my lunch to find new materials and fabrics, and she is always impressed by what I find. I think she wonders a lot at what I do with the stuff I buy. So I decided to make her a simple toiletry purse for makeup, jewellry, etc.

14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Jerry Seinfeld's Puffy Shirt Makeover on: September 27, 2006 10:40:50 AM
OK, so what was I thinking, I bought a puffy, ugly polyester shirt at a thrift store... See how it looks? For those Seinfeld fanatics out there who saw the episode when Jerry promises by accident to wear a puffy shirt to a benefit, THATS how I felt!

I was about to place it under what "the heck can I do with this...?" when I just went at it. And I am pretty satisfied with the result. I don't usually like to wear puffed short sleeved little tops, because I find they give an impression of very broad shoulders (which is my biggest fear in this mortal life).  Roll Eyes

However, by sort of changing the collar a little to look like something more casual I think it now gives an impression which is more couture.

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Curry scarf for winter on: September 22, 2006 02:05:08 PM
So I am so happy, after a total knitting failure I managed to get the pattern for this right! And now it's finished after just one week.

It is a mohair mix triangular scarf which is really warm and snuggly....
Winter - I am ready for you!

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Toiletry purse of many styles on: September 10, 2006 03:07:34 AM
It's four pm. and I am going to my friend's 25th birthday bash. I haven't yet bought a gift and don't have time to go out and get one, since I have to leave at sevenish. Fortunately, I have a bunch of things at home (like most of us here on Craftster probbly) so I decide to make a little toiletry purse.
Since my friend is both traditional and used to love 18th century-dresses as a child (I have known her since then), as well as an explorer who just spent three months in Tadzikistan, I wanted to make it reflect contrasts.
So , I used two fabrics which I feel show this. And in about two hours the purse was done! With this gift and a bunch of balloons I saved the day. Phew!

To the simple brown fabric I added a Victorian cameo broche which along with the light pink lining will mak this purse look very traditional and tasteful on the one hand.

On the Mexican Madonna-fabric I embroidered some red beads or whatchamacall it, to add some celestial 3D effect to the fabric.

17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Fortune Photo frame - Now under right category... on: September 04, 2006 10:49:35 AM
I made this personalized photo frame a while back. Get hot glue gun and find all kinds of beads. Then add fortune cookie text.... Voil!

18  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Royal decoupage on: September 04, 2006 10:48:01 AM
I found a booklet called Kungaboken at a Sunday flea market here in Stockholm. All the pictures were from the anniversary of our former king, Gustavus V Adolphus.

I made all the pretty pics into strips of paper with which I decorated my very own regal jewellry (shoe) box.

20  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Sacred mini-lantern on: September 04, 2006 09:40:47 AM
This is just one of many variations on a simple lantern with different motifs, I prefer the religious ones. The little cameo was originally a set of earrings I bought for 30 Swedish crowns, which is about 5 US dollars. Again, the hot glue gun and lots of lace!
