I honestly wouldn't suggest "fixing" the colors. Not only might you have to start all over again because of a slightly smudged colors, but they look awesome.
Great idea to have the Death bird a skeleton. I've only seen that one or two times before.

I had to make a handmade gift for a final in my art class and this is what I came up with. The things on the sides are little picture holders. Just put a corner of the picture under the ribbons.



And because I don't want to start a totally new topic, here is the first clock I ever made for my friend's B-day.
