1  I need some advertising help... in Crafty Business Discussion by BitsyCreations on: September 22, 2008 12:36:13 PM
All right, I need some advertising help!
A little background--I'm a graphic designer and most of my time goes into creating for OTHER people, so when it comes time to create for myself, I run into issues frequently!!!
I've been putting together a promotional postcard and I'm just not sure if it's getting my point across.

Clearly I'm going for simple & to the point, but what do you think?
I'd love some input just in general, but specifically--I'm wondering is three examples enough?  Does this get my point across that they're customizable for any holiday?  (Oh, and if this is perfect as is, which do you prefer?)

Help!
And thanks!!  Grin

2  Some of my latest cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by BitsyCreations on: April 15, 2007 03:56:17 PM
I've just been reading lately--haven't posted for awhile, so I thought I'd show some of my latest cards! Wink

I don't think I've mentioned here before that I just got so sick of never finding stamps/clipart, etc. that wasn't *quite* right, so I've been teaching myself graphics! Smiley  Yipee!  So these are some cards I've done with graphics I created using Adobe Illustrator.

3  My Holiday Cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by BitsyCreations on: December 01, 2006 04:31:50 PM
One of my friends saw some of my cards in my shop on Etsy and asked me to make her cards this year!  I was so thrilled because usually my friends think I'm too busy with other people's projects to do theirs!!  But I LOVE to do things for my friends (well, anyone who lets me craft really! ha!).  Anyway, I'm absolutely THRILLED with the outcome.

They're just normal greeting card size (5x7) and I made the "belt" out of vellum & hand stitched the snowflakes on the cover.  The beads are loose so they do move a bit, which is fun!! Smiley  The inside middle is blank because I'm going to put photocorners in so she can put their family photo in once they get it!

These are the ones my friend saw & we kind of worked from there.

What do you think?  I love them so much I think I'm going to make these same ones to be from us this year, too!

5  Re: show me your business cards! in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by BitsyCreations on: October 03, 2006 09:46:38 AM
I've been printing me own.  I haven't used a ton, so I think it's working out fine.  I was going to look into purchasing them somewhere if I felt I needed more, but this is working perfectly for now.  Especially because I print them on tan instead of white!

Anyway, I just use my regular HP all-in-one and you can see (despite the not-so-great photo) that they look great!

And here's the design... and a HUGE thanks to CraftyChef who basically designed the whole thing--I just made minor changes!!

6  Name Blocks in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by BitsyCreations on: October 02, 2006 08:30:48 AM
So these aren't paper, but all the work I did on them was paper crafting! Smiley  I just took some wood blocks (2 inches) from the craft store and some paper, stickers, & modge podge and here you go!  I even did some of my hand-stitching.

I made these ones for my daugher to play with (she's almost 2, so she's having a ton of fun matching the colors & stacking, etc.), but I think I'm going to make some holiday ones that have 3-D embellishments.  i.e. ribbon, buttons, etc. You can't tell from the pictures, but I used the glossy modge podge.  They're so pretty & shiney! Smiley

It's totally not an original idea--I've seen these all over the place for years--, so I thought I'd share here because it was so fun and so easy!! Smiley

7  New product possibility--opinions wanted! :) in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by BitsyCreations on: September 22, 2006 05:19:09 AM
Hi all--I recently set up a shop on Etsy for my greeting cards.  I do mostly paper embroidery.  I was wondering if you thought this would be a good idea--to take what I have on cards and maybe frame a few as, say, children's art?

For example, the monkey if someone had a themed room, etc.

Or the bear:

I don't have this one listed, but it may be good for a baby room:

I'd really love some input!  Thanks! Smiley

8  Decorated Journal in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by BitsyCreations on: September 02, 2006 09:09:38 AM
Just finished decorating a journal for my friend... I bought the journal (at Target, it's perfect), but definitely plan on trying to make my own after seeing some that you've made here.  They're incredible!  Anyway, here it is.  I'm kind of a ribbin-aholic.  Can you tell?! ha!

The front:

The inside cover and first section--there are three sections separated with dividers with pockets.  Love this book!  It was so fun to decorate and it was cheap--definitely under $5.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

9  New here, wanted to show my cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by BitsyCreations on: September 01, 2006 07:18:57 AM
Hi Everyone--I'm "new" here--I've been lurking for a long time, but have just been too overwhelmed by the talent and amount of people here!  This is certainly as close to heaven as it can get for me.  Smiley  I adore crafting but don't do much anymore.  (I have an absolutely wild 19 month old who thinks she has to do everything I do, hehe.)

Anyway, I enjoy doing anything, but mostly I make cards.  I started out just with paper, but now am really into "paper embroidery".  So here's a couple I thought I'd share.  I've made a ton of announcements and invitations for friends, so they finally convinced me to start a site.  It's here if you want to check it out & see more of my stuff:  www.myspace.com/bitsycreations

Saw this one in a magazine, but there wasn't a pattern!  So I had to make my own.  Turned out okay:

My all-time favorite.  I'd make a ton more if it didn't take so long!!!

JUST starting to teach myself quilling... so don't make fun!! Wink
