Okay, I've received from the truly wonderful addicted2knitting. To says she spoilt me is an understatement. Prepare for pic heaviness. Cheesy

Here is the bag, which is lined, closes with a zip and has a zipped pocket and is absolutely perfect in every way, in fact I never want to put it down. Ever. Cheesy

She sent me two books! Here is a 1929 edition of Oliver Twist, by Dickens, which fulfills two reading fantasies in one. Reading a classic, in an old book. I've started reading and it is totally addictive.

Neil Gaiman, who is an author I had only ever heard of on this thread (thanks guys!) I can't wait to start it either. Intriguing. Cheesy

Check this bookmark! Pretty felt and I love the shadow effect of the writing and the embroidery stitches which attach random squares on the other side.

Finally, addicted2knitting and I both agreed to exchange touristy postcards, because I've never travelled overseas and I love postcards. Check out this haul! Also in the centre bottom are the book plates she designed for me. I'm having trouble deciding which of my favourite books get the treatment lol. Cheesy

Thanks addicted2knitting!

This is my stashbusting granny square blanket, also know as the best tv crochet project ever! I was going to make it huge, but then someone quietly reminded me that my grandfather needed a lapghan, so here it is!

Because I just wanted a picot edge dammit!

Sorry the pics are so big, everyone else's work is incredible!

6  Nice flamingos, luv! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by librarylass on: September 27, 2007 02:23:59 AM
Hey everyone!
First, a confession, I love bright, bold funky fat quarters, but yet do not have the heart to slice them up. So I bought a $2 boxer short pattern and made some boxers. Comfiest boxers, ever.

Flamingos on the back, cats on the front. I even had excess fabric (by the time I hacked the waist down to size).

The only thing I'd do differently would be to raise the waistline about 10cms, but thats it.

Enjoy!

Hey everyone! I've got a nearly FO! Here is a granny square blanket that I started on the weekend, using 9mm hook and all my bulky yarn. Has everyone else found that granny squares are good for almost everything?

This is one heavy blanket!

10  Re: Let's make pincushions! in Craftalongs by librarylass on: June 28, 2007 12:09:09 AM
That is one awesomely cute pincushion barbalot!!

On the subject of pincushions... Here's one I made a few weeks earlier for a swap, the emphasis was on the embroidery part, but a pincushion is a pincushion, right?
