1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Need help with superhero costume. on: May 16, 2008 09:02:38 PM
Hey ya'll,

I know that you're all a crafty and smart bunch, so I need a bit of help: This year I'm going to Disney World with some family for their Mickey's Not So Spooky Halloween parade and everyone is supposed to dress up. So I've decided to be a superhero, but I want to be an original one. The only problem is, I can't think of any ideas for what my costume should look like/who my superhero should be, and I thought ya'll could help. Any ideas? The costume should be able to pack well, be good for the heat (it's going to be Florida in September, I'm assuming it'll still be quite warm) and something that will be comfortable wearing for around six hours. I'm completely stumped.

Here's some things I can definitely work with:
Masks (adults are allowed to wear them there)
A cape
Really bright colors

Ideas, please?  Huh

2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Another Capt. Jack Sparrow shirt on: February 22, 2005 07:45:13 PM
Hey,
This is my second stencil, and my first time using freezer paper. Which, I love. It's supposed to be of Captain Jack Sparrow, but I don't know how well it looks like him. I probably should have used an already made stencil, but I decided to make my own. I also wrote "Savvy" underneath it. I thought I was being quite clever until I saw quite a few posts on here with the same thing. Anyway, here are the pictures of it. What do ya'll think? Could you tell who it was if it didn't have "Savvy" written under it?

For some reason it looks like it has a gold tint to it in this picture, I assure you it doesn't, although that might look quite cool.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Canvas bag into cute purse. on: January 09, 2005 11:20:02 AM
Hey!
This was the first purse I made. I just bought a child size canvas tote, printed out a picture that I wanted onto an iron on transfer. Then, I ironed it onto the tote. After that, I cut the real handles off, and sealed the ends with clear fingernail polish. Then, I got a 26 in. dog chain with hoops at both ends and sewed it onto the sides of the purse. So, here's the picture;

I used a Hugh Jackman picture for mine, and the picture was supposed to look aged, in case you were wondering.

P.S. Don't mind the bed, it wasn't made when I took the picture.
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / First stencil: Hugh Jackman - First post on: January 09, 2005 11:09:19 AM
Hey everyone! This is my first post!
I lied, this isn't my first stencil, I stenciled some words onto a track jacket not too long ago, but this is my first detailed/face stencil. It's of Hugh Jackman. (Although my brother thinks it looks like Sean Penn). Please forgive me for the shoddy picture taking. I've just got my step-dad's old digital camera, and it was hard to take the picture. Anyway, here it is, my first *real* stencil!

What do ya'll think for a first timer?
