1  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by rmtndew on: January 13, 2007 06:20:21 PM
Hey ya'll, this question may have already been asked, but seriously, there's like, 355 pages so I didn't get the chance to really go through them all. lol Anyway, I've been wanting to dye my hair like Rogue from X-Men for about the past year and a half now, but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. For those of you who don't know what or who I'm talking about, this is a photo of how I want my hair:

My hair is naturally a red color, but it's washing out from a dark brown/black that I dyed it earlier last year, and I plan on dying it dark again. I just like myself better with dark hair. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had ever bleached only parts of their hair white before, or had someone else do it, and what you did it with?

2  Re: Peacock Costume in Halloween Costumes by rmtndew on: October 20, 2005 11:07:25 AM

i have no idea if any of these will help...
Those are the earrings that I have! After reading this post again, I have decided that I'm going to be a peacock as well, I'm just too in love with the idea of the feathers and the makeup. I'm going for a more causal look as I don't think anyone else is really dressing up, but I think it'll be fun. I know this isn't my forum, but I'm loving all of the pictures being posted. Now I'm so excited!

Anyone ever try something like this?!?

I have to say it's the best take on Genie I've ever seen!  The 'bottle' is a foam skirt.   Wink

wow I have to say Im already taking that apart in my mind LOL .. My youngest would SO love that costume.. Off to brainstorm!

I'm thinking the skirt part could be made with some fabric that you could paint the designs on, then put a hula hoop in it to get it to stick out like that, and then put elastic in the bottom to bring it back in again. As for the top, it sort of looks like the top half of a bathing suit, and the little shrug thing could be made from a hot pink T-shirt with gold trim around it. I don't know how you would do the little hat, but the scarf thing could probably be bought from a fabric store or you could get a cheap actual scarf from Goodwill or somewhere. But I really don't know.

4  Another Capt. Jack Sparrow shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by rmtndew on: February 22, 2005 07:45:13 PM
Hey,
This is my second stencil, and my first time using freezer paper. Which, I love. It's supposed to be of Captain Jack Sparrow, but I don't know how well it looks like him. I probably should have used an already made stencil, but I decided to make my own. I also wrote "Savvy" underneath it. I thought I was being quite clever until I saw quite a few posts on here with the same thing. Anyway, here are the pictures of it. What do ya'll think? Could you tell who it was if it didn't have "Savvy" written under it?

For some reason it looks like it has a gold tint to it in this picture, I assure you it doesn't, although that might look quite cool.

5  Canvas bag into cute purse. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by rmtndew on: January 09, 2005 11:20:02 AM
Hey!
This was the first purse I made. I just bought a child size canvas tote, printed out a picture that I wanted onto an iron on transfer. Then, I ironed it onto the tote. After that, I cut the real handles off, and sealed the ends with clear fingernail polish. Then, I got a 26 in. dog chain with hoops at both ends and sewed it onto the sides of the purse. So, here's the picture;

I used a Hugh Jackman picture for mine, and the picture was supposed to look aged, in case you were wondering.

P.S. Don't mind the bed, it wasn't made when I took the picture.
