1  Ollie dog and his super sweater in CHALLENGE 23 ENTRIES by monkeyfeetdanielle on: December 05, 2007 06:04:17 PM
My friend told me how she used to make her chihuahua little shirts from the sleeves of t-shirts. So I thought why not dog sweaters from the sleeves of sweaters.

Heres the sweater I bought at Thrift-co for $1.99 Plus 20% off! (I got a little excited and started before I took pictures):

IT'S HUGE, it's an xxl! It's cotton and very washable! It also has the dreaded shoulder pads welded into the seams! But it has great knitted cables and I am a poor knitter but can crochet like a mad woman! So I cut the sleeve off and crocheted around the edge and the holes I cut for Oliver's legs to keep the knit from unraveling.

And here's the result!

Thanks for looking!

2  Cowabungus Fungus! in Halloween Costumes by monkeyfeetdanielle on: November 05, 2006 08:28:34 PM

I love the idea of the super hero. So, this year I decided to make up my own.
The french superhero MADAME MUSHROOM!

(this my friend Jane who went as barbarella. I saved her. She doesn't want her secret identity found out.)

I made the hat from a beret pattern I found online and made it stand out with wire. Then I decorated it with red pleather that I also made the belt from.

My gloves are power ranger gloves that I altered  with little mushrooms and black electrical tape. My wonderful fiance shaped the mushroom on my SCEPTER OF SPORES(!!) from sculpty and a little paint. I also found a easy-peasy cape pattern on a superman forum. I bought the black unitard and borrowed the boots and the wig. I really like how everything turned out. You have been spored.
