2  U.K. AND IRELAND / SCOTLAND / Glasgow - 'Fuzzy Felt Folk' Cosy crafty parties for the winter months! :o) on: August 29, 2006 08:44:18 AM
Hi there

I'm new to Craftster and wasn't entirely sure WHERE to post this little message - so - I've plonked it here.  I hope I haven't interrupted anything.

Well, ok.  So.  I just wanted to gauge response to an idea I've been hatching.

My hubby and I popped into the Liquid Ship the other day for a little coca cola. We were on the way back home from an adventure. While we were sooking our fizzy pops from our big pint glasses to our straws, I realised...

The little function area in the Liquid Ship is just lovely. It's tiny, it's cosy, it has a chaise longue, it is comfy. I thought, maybe (now you can tell me to shut up if this is a silly idea) but just maybe, that it would be a good wee place to start up a musical/craft/social/White Russian party? Maybe once a month? Crafters and noncrafters alike could pop along, drink some White Russians (or whatever they fancy I suppose), knit a little (or whatever), chat a little, nibble a little (snacks that is), swap some stuff if they wanted AND listen to some super-cool, splendid tunios into the bargain?

What do you think? I'm reckoning it could be a goer! What a nice way to spend an evening in the winter months?! The Liquid Ship itself is pretty easy to get to too - right next to the underground, loads of buses going by, right next to Maryhill Road...

Please get in touch and let me know what you reckon. If enough people think it a good idea, then I shall go ahead and organise. I have my musical selections taken care of in my head already, I have boys who would take care of pressing 'play', we have a venue, we have snacks, we have drinkies and we have crafters - so. Ok. Won't take much to get things going - could be having our first shin-dig by late September/early October?

Spread the word to friends you think might be into it! Let me know what the response is like.

Take care fellow crafters!
