Hi guys,

She's in Australia and has waited patiently for a few months while her partner, who has now stopped communicating.
So.. a little about her:

Your Hogwarts House: Slytherin or Ravenclaw - every sorting hat is undecided. But leaning towards Slytherin.
Your Favourite HP book: 5
Your Favourite HP movie: Possibly 5th! Actually probably 5th!
Favourite character: Ron, Twins, Neville, Harry
Favourite character Relationship: Harry/Cho, Crabbe/Goyle HAHA!
Coolest concept/power/item in the wizarding world: Timeturner! Marauder's map
Favourite magical institution (ie: are you a Ministry of Magic backer, or a Death Eater? Maybe you would love to be in the D.A. or part of S.P.E.W): D.A.!! I hate the Ministry of Magic lol..
Favourite animals, beasts, creatures: nifflers, crookshanks, pigwidgeon, centaurs i suppose.. and if you listen to Pottercast - "Blast-ended skrewt, I choose you!" ahah
I am interesting in items that are (eg: house-based, character-based, magical creatures, magical objects, a mixture of everything!): character based, house based, magical objects, uhh pretty much anything interesting..Luna based! lol!
Crafts I admire: sewing, knitting, embroidery, stencilling/screen printing
Items I'd love to receive: Marauder's Map, stitch markers, I like things I can wear or use. hmm..check my wists

So any angels out there.. I hope to hear from you! I know there were a few people interested from last time around.. PM me again and let me know if you're still willing!

15  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: SEPTEMBER 2007 BIRTHDAY SWAP Gallery! on: October 19, 2007 11:15:51 PM
I'm very sorry to onthinice for not posting pictures of my lovely swap package any sooner.. I promise it doesn't mean I'm any less grateful, jutst that I'm swamped at the moment!

So! Feast your eyes you little September craft-heads.. this package is a killer!

The whole thing (minus the candycorn- which had already been abducted by my tounge- not even 10 minutes after I'd opened the package! I've never had it before alright!)
Also there are some little fairy and dragonfly charms and closures (onthinice works at a bead store- what a dream come true!), I love them! They are completely my style.
Oh.. there's the little customs letter too.. telling me that they had opened it but not stolen any of my presents.. yay!

A close-up of the lovely handmade soap, nagchampa scented!

A pincushion! It's adorable and I needed one too! It's made from felt and has lots of lovely knotting as detail- beautiful!

Two cup cozies.. I think I may give one to my boy when we are reunited (hopefully in Jan next year!) after 8ish months! We can be a matching set!

And my most favourite thing last- my very own swap journal! At last!
onthinice made this using a book-binding technique called "secret Belgian binding".
It even includes paper that is 25-30 years old from when her aunty was a maths teacher! It's the yellow paper featured in the pic below.

Thankyou so much onthinice- everything you maybe was so expertly done! You put so much thought into the package and it wasn't even your birthday month! Everything (especially the swap journal) is perfect!
Thanks again!

16  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Crafty Penpals! on: October 19, 2007 01:55:22 AM
Hey Guys,
Just a friendly reminder to please keep this thread as strictly "bio's" as possible:
Update your status at the bottom of your bio (see first page for example) with a date to let people know you are still looking for a penpal.
All other communication should be via PM's- if you'd like someone to be your penpal, then don't be afraid to PM them! And guys, please let anyone who PM's you know if you are/are not available as a pen pal.
Thanks!

Oh wow, love the Alice in Wonderland book. I especially like that it is shaped like a house, and I love the black and white background running through it. The cards are lovely, and all go so well together!

How are the cards mounted in there? I am always trying to find new ways too attach my cards, but I hate to glue/stick them in permanently (because I hate not being able to change my mind  Grin).

It kinda reminds me of a house of cards actually!

qazicat used clear photo corners! They are super-sturdy too.. and she included a few more for me incase I wanted to add more cards to it!

The books and cards are all so lovely so far!!

I'd like to add my book to the collection!

From qazicat:
My theme was Alice In Wonderland/Through The Looking Glass:

qazi cleverly cut out a piece on the front graphic and used a reflective surface for the looking glass! What a brilliant idea!

It is a little box and hinges open like so...

Pull on the little ribbon to reveal..

A lovely atc from qazicat herself called "Open The Door".. I love it! It's really cute and I love the little key- keys are one of my favourite motifs!

The next card is from little green dragonfly is called "Eat me- Whoops!" and features a small cupcake and Alice's limbs, growing too big for the white rabbits house!
Next to that is ariaya's ATC entitled "Hatter". I love it! The Mad Hatter is one of my fav characters!

And lastly, my card from missmelissa, depicting the lovely Alice herself.. It's a really pretty image Smiley

I want to thank you qazicat for this lovely book and all of you for the cards that fill it!
It's lovely!
