11  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Box of Sunshine Round 2 SU-March 28, SO-May 3 on: May 02, 2016 06:59:56 PM
Okay, I tried as hard as I possibly could, but, rscowtown, I could not fit everything into the box I got for you. I'm sending it off tomorrow like I'm supposed to, and then I'm going to try to find a smaller envelope for the rest (really just two or three little things) and send it off later. I can't wait for you to get this package! I hope you like it.
12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: 2016 Ongoing ATC Swap Discussion Thread on: May 02, 2016 11:45:19 AM
I just had an ATC-display epiphany! I might try collecting a bunch of those mini clothespins (the spring-loaded ones) and attaching ATCs to yarn or twine or fishing line, then hanging the string around the top of the walls of my living room. Or maybe I'll just choose one wall somewhere and loop the yarn/twine back on itself a few times, to make a squiggle on the wall.

There are still problems with this method though: ATCs are so small that if they're very high up, it'll be hard to make out the finer details in them, and I'd either have to wait until I had a large amount of cards and attach them all at once or else climb up on something tall every time I want to add something. Hm. Maybe it's back to the drawing board...
13  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Pocket Letter Swap 1 (SU Apr 28-May 6 ; SO June 6) on: May 02, 2016 10:39:50 AM
I had never heard of this before. I am looking forward to it though. I am hoping to get partnered with someone who, like me, is more interested in the potential ATC artworks to share rather than focusing on filling the pockets with things. I have seen some beautiful examples of creative artwork shared in the pockets. That excites me more than anything else.

Ooh, same here! Don't get me wrong: I like the idea of filling the pockets well enough and will be happy to fill that letter to bursting for my partner if that's what they're most excited for, but I'm most excited to create artwork for my partner, and to see what they create.

Also, if Treemoon joins, whoever she gets partnered with is in for a particularly great swap. We were partners for another swap just recently and her package had me on the verge of happy-tears. Her work is just mindblowing!
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One Tiny Unloved Creature Gallery on: May 02, 2016 07:50:51 AM
Unofficially, it looks like we have someone who isn't going to be able to complete this swap. Sad She still has until tomorrow evening to send out, but I haven't heard from her in a while, so I thought I'd put out the feelers now. Is anyone willing to be an angel for this swap? Dessadoll is missing a package. Sad (Technically I am too since we both had the same partner, but my main concern is making sure that dessadoll gets taken care of first.)

If you think you might be able to angel (you'd only need to make one object, so if two of you happen to be able to angel then great, but if not, that's perfectly fine too), please drop me a line. I want to get this straightened out as quickly as possible so she doesn't have to wait any longer to receive. Don't feel like you have to do anything, though! Tomorrow evening or Wednesday morning I'll be posting in the Angel forums.

Of course, the ideal situation is that we'll hear from the original swapper and everything will be fine as-is. Fingers crossed that whatever's going on for her gets resolved! Smiley

Is it weird that I love grey drizzly weather at least as much as bright sunshiny weather? I'm not even just talking about days when I can hide in bed or read or drink tea or whatever: even on days when I have to be out and about, I love the rain. A "Box of Drizzle" swap probably wouldn't go over as well though, huh?

I've done all the crafting I'm going to be able to do for this swap! I'll be packing it up and adding a few last dashes of sunshine tonight, then mailing it out tomorrow right before the post office closes! I know, I'm cutting it close, but believe me when I say I definitely took advantage of the extra crafting time! I feel like my box isn't quite as big or amazing as the boxes already in the gallery, which is scary, but I've more than followed the guidelines for the swap, so...we'll see. rscowtown, if for any reason you're less than thrilled with your box, let me know and I'll send a round two. Smiley You deserve it!

If anyone needs a card holder but can't get their hands on one affordably (I think they're pretty readily available in most places, and for cheap, but you never know), let me know. I can buy packs of ten at the dollar store for--you guessed it--a dollar so I can send you one (or a few, if you want more for future swaps) with no problems whatsoever. Smiley

I'm claiming blupaisan for Classical Music. I've got some plans already! I just hope it turns out okay.

1/0/0

I live in Michigan! I don't really have any strict preferences in terms of what I do or don't want to receive. I trust just about everyone on Craftster to have a pretty good idea of whether something is appropriate to send someone. Blood, gore, and nudity don't bother me at all, unless they're all combined into one card: not into the implications of a gory nudity card. Sad The only thing I wouldn't really appreciate would be, like, a Bible verse scrawled in Sharpie on a blank white card or something: if you've put any effort at all into the card, I know I'm going to love it.

My themes:
Superheroes (especially Hawkeye [Barton or Bishop or both!], Supergirl, Deadpool [does he count as a hero??], Ms. Marvel)
Loki (the Marvel villain or the Norse god)
Moveable/Foldable/3D in some way (even if that's a piece of origami glued to the card)
Rodents/Gerbils
Owls
Octopuses/Octopi/Octopode
Illustrate a fairy tale
Supernatural creatures
Untranslatable words (illustrate one or just write up the definition all fancy-like)
Van Gogh
Outer Space
Magic (your interpretation is more than welcome!)
Powerful Women (I think I'd like to eventually display them all in some kind of art piece in my classroom)
Reading/Literature
Pagan Wheel of the Year (I'd love to collect cards for all eight celebrations; I have an Imbolc already)
Self-Portrait
An ATC that illustrates/shows/describes your day
A theme from your list
Artist's Choice! I'm really not picky and just love finding beautiful little pieces of art in my mailbox.

And I am one of those people that you described that gets bent out of shape (pun intended) about the condition of books--I hate creases/bends in the cover/pages, damaged spines, staining, etc., especially when readers do it to library books that aren't even theirs!

Oh, I'd never do that to library books. My own books, sure, but never someone else's.

That is an awesome box! I love what you've done with it, but I also just love the box itself. That little platform! Maybe I need to take myself to Target this weekend, to see if I can find something similar.

I love the tape design too. Smiley
