1  Pokemon GO Backpack in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by KairiGurl on: July 28, 2016 08:18:35 PM
So in case you haven't heard... Pokemon Go is pretty awesome and fun! What a better way to go play and carry your essentials than with a bag to match your avatar??? I know there are a few other bag designs, but this was the bag I chose for my avatar. I added my team logo because, well, go Team Mystic! Smiley

What team are you??

2  My wedding dress and veil!!!!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by KairiGurl on: May 22, 2016 06:58:24 PM

I also always knew that I would make my wedding dress. It is 100% silk, besides the lace. The bodice is silk satin with lace overtop and the skirt is ripped silk organza and chiffon strips (over 20 yards!). To create the skirt, I folded and pressed organza and chiffon so that the edges did not match. Then I took those strips and pinned them into position, basically at random but building from where I started. There is an attached petticoat underneath too. I made the pattern from slopers, and it laces up on the inside so that it would be easy to zip (although I ended up not needing the lacing because I lucked out and it zipped VERY easily!). For the veil, I used a very lightweight silk gauze. I did a rolled hem and edged it with the ripped off selvage edge of my chiffon.

THANK YOU to craftsters.org for inspiring me to do all of the sewing that I do! I have been a member for a very long time, and while I don't post or surf the site that often anymore, I can absolutely say that there are many people on here whose projects inspired me to push myself to get better and better at sewing!

Also because I obviously did not take my wedding photos, thank you for my photographer, Ashley Jane Photography, for my beautiful wedding photos.

P.S.
It was always my dream to get married at Disney. I am a HUGE Disney fan, and let me tell you, if you're thinking about a Disney wedding, DO IT!!!!! It was definitely the best day of my life!

Let me know what you think and please ask if you have any questions!

3  My Little Pony - Fluttershy Plush :) UPDATED! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by KairiGurl on: June 27, 2012 02:41:49 PM
UPDATE!
I have remade my plushie in super softy minky fabric, and also put the eyes on correctly! Here are some pictures!

Wow, it's been a few years since I've posted on here. However, I'm really excited about my most recent project. While not completely finished (her hair needs to be sewn on) I'd love to share. I recently had decided to start making My Little Pony plushie with a friend of mine. This one is the first pony I have made after making my muslin, so it's more of a trial pony. I realized that I positioned the eyes on the wrong way after my friend kindly pointed out that I kept thinking the eyes were supposed to be that way, but they really are not. Haha. I have spent over a month creating the pattern, embroidery files, and mock ups, with my friend who has no sewing or patterning knowledge what-so-ever, but he definitely did his fair share of the work! So without further ado, I present, Fluttershy Smiley Enjoy!

My next step is to order better fabric (whenever it comes in stock), and make an even better Fluttershy, with correct eyes. I might even add in a smile for her face. I'm really interested in making a Pinkie Pie next and a Lyra Heartstrings. Let me know what you think! Thanks for viewing!!

This is what it looks like. Shouldn't the loops look more connected to the top part?

5  Okami Cherry Tree (withered) charm! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by KairiGurl on: September 09, 2008 06:48:35 PM
I loooooooove Okami! It is SUCH a pretty game! Actually it's the prettiest game in the whole entire world. So I've become pretty into keeping and creating bonsai trees, and whenever I think of them I think of the big cherry trees in Okami. They are gorgeous trees. They're even pretty when they're withered. So in my first attempt at creating something with polymer clay, I made an adorable withered cherry tree charm! It's sooooooo cute! I didn't put the little paper...things on it though. I was too excited and kinda forgot. But it's still super cute!

There's a reference picture. I loooooove this tree.

6  Sailor Moon and crossword puzzle corsets! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by KairiGurl on: September 06, 2008 08:40:58 PM
So of course I'm for some reason completely obsessed with corsets. And I seem to have been making a lot. Here's two that I'd like to show off.

I loooooove this fabric! It's SO cute! Sailor Moon rocks.

I almost want to fill this puzzle in...but I think I would mess it up.

They're both lined in checker board fabric! My next corsets will be lined in cow spots fabric!

Ahhhhh! Posting pictures of my swap stuff has totally slipped my mind! Sad I'm sorry. Anywho. I did a swap with RepentantAngel. She gave me a super cute amigurumi turtle and a fun scarf. Both in purple. Which I adore. I love them!!

Thanks so much!

8  sc in next ch-3 sp...? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by KairiGurl on: July 22, 2008 01:50:21 PM
Ok, so I'm not completely new to crocheting...but I have no idea what this means. Well actually, I have two ideas, but I don't know if either are correct.

So do I treat the whole 3 chain space as something to work the sc around, or do I actually put the hook into the...I guess the middle chain on the 3 chain space and then work the sc into that? Here's an awesome picture.

So is the first or second...or something totally different? I would love some help.
Thanks!

10  Vintage Wallpaper Monokini! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by KairiGurl on: July 06, 2008 10:24:29 AM
So this isn't the very first bathing suit that I have made, but it's the craziest. It was SUPER easy too. I was shocked at how easy it was to make. I didn't use a pattern either. And this baby's going in my portfolio for sure. Sooooooo without further ado, here she is:
