this is just a chain for the width I wanted then SC with dec at each end. I used Moonlight mohair by Lion Yarn and a Q hook. I got the idea from the Crochetme website.
this is an inner city Dallas school full of rather poor kids. I have substitute taught at the school and saw that the kids don't have alot going on other than school & not so nice home lives. When I brought my crochet in they were fascinated and loved the amigurumi dolls & Otama I made. I made a couple of girls hats for the winter and told them they could make them too. They lit up. I talked to the principal and she said put together a plan and bring it to her. I don't have the money to buy all the supplies myself. HAs anyone here put together an after school program for elementary kids(I'm thinking 3rd -5th grade) How should I go about doing this. I really want to try this this year. THanks
I keep trying to get a flat circle but my circles keep curling up instead of laying flat. I make a magic loop, crochet in SC or DC, doesn't matter, into the loop lets say 10. then I join with a slst. Now when I go to start the 2nd round things begin to curl. I sc in the same st as the join and 2 SC in each around. I join at the top of the first st and the thing begins to curl up. With each row it curls up more so instead of laying flat. Can anyone help me? Is it the acrylic yarn I'm using? I really want some flat circles. Thanks in advance. Slystr
