26  Re: Flapperish or 1930's Cloche Hat with Flower - - Pattern Too! in Crochet: Completed Projects by slystr on: October 04, 2004 05:41:12 AM
Thought you might like to see the hats I did, the red one has the backwards flower (beautiful backwards!).  I have tried several patterns for crocheted roses, and the like this one the best.

Thanks BeppyCat!

How are you using the pattern to get the holes in the hat? mine came out tighter and I'd like to have a hat with a larger ho,e pattern

I made one and I got this Big Bessie Smith lookin kind of thing with a point on one side. I bagged the flower in the varigated yarn

not the best pix, but I was flying solo.
I was looking for something  rounder, I have no idea how I got the point, but I like it!

28  Re: ISO yarn like Red heart varigated MEXICANA in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by slystr on: September 28, 2004 12:26:26 PM
I love the color of RED HEART varigated  Mexicana, it's bright primary colors but I find the yarn kind of hard when knit into hats. DOes anyone know of a yarn with rich primairy color varigtion(sp) that feels nicer? I'll try to post a pix on the yarn tonight.
 TIA
Slystr
