1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: I need DIY instructions (with pics!) for distressing/whitewashing wood on: January 07, 2012 03:15:38 PM
Not sure this is really what you're looking for, but have you seen this post? She explains exactly how she did it and shows before and after pictures but there aren't any pictures of the process.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Best Fabric Paint for Pillow? on: January 06, 2012 12:37:42 PM
Hello! I wasn't sure whether to post this here or another category so my apologies if this is in the wrong place!

I'm leaving to study abroad for six months in just over a week and I just had the idea to make my boyfriend and I matching pillowcases before I go. I just want to do a simple continuous design that spans both pillowcases so I can take one with me and he can have one here. My only issue is that a lot of the fabric paint I have used in the past has left fabric crunchy or otherwise unpleasant (although I've never worked with pillowcases before). I'm planning on getting simple cotton pillowcases but may end up with a silkier material if it works out that way.

Assuming I'm working with cotton or a cotton blend (although I'll take suggestions for all fabric types that a pillowcase might be!), what is a good brand of fabric paint that will result in pillowcases soft enough to sleep on?

Thanks!

Here are the inchies Smmarrt sent me! I actually received them a couple of days ago but I was hoping Dragonflower's would get here so I could share all of my inchies at the same time. I just can't wait to post them anymore because they're so awesome!

It's hard to choose, but I think "fond" is my favorite!

So glad you like your inchies from me, mintdawn and mantisbh. I was pretty intimidated when I received yours since they were the first ones I had ever seen in person and they're amazing, haha!

I finally managed to find my camera's memory card, so here are the ones I've received so far:

AGMSY from mantisbh:

CIOU from mintdawn:

DJPV from pantsafari:

The card she sent them in was so cute I can't resist sharing it too!

EKQW from deathchicken:

And finally, I took a group shop with my favorite inchie from each set.

Thanks so much, guys!
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Alphabet inchies Round 2 -send by 9/19/11 on: September 17, 2011 10:32:57 AM
Another first time swapper here, but I put mine inside of greeting cards I got at the dollar store and sent them that way. A couple of my inchies have 3d elements but they're flat for the most part so I think putting them inside of the card and putting the card inside of an envelope will keep them secure enough.
